The Compensation Analyst assists in the development, administration and ongoing monitoring of compensation programs. This includes formulating recommendations regarding the development and update of salary structures, reviewing positions to ensure FLSA compliance, pay adjustments and incentive programs.  Also prepares, completes and analyzes market survey data.  

  • Maintains integrity of compensation data within the HR system and MarketPay.  

  • Models changes, additions or enhancements to base pay and variable pay programs.

  • Develops and recommends compensation processes and procedures.

  • Participates in the audit and evaluation processes of the compensation programs and related policies to ensure the programs are effective in helping to meet organizational goals and objectives.

  • Conducts analysis of market position in support of annual compensation program planning and job evaluation process, including the initial review of job descriptions to the standards, and researching, gathering, and analyzing data to determine appropriate salary level and job title for new positions.

  • Educates leaders and staff members on compensation practices and policies.

  • Design and develop modeling for reporting and special projects.

  • Consulting with Human Resource Business Partners in the development of job descriptions
    Maintains organization charts.

Department/Unit details:   The Compensation Analyst works on a team of two and reports directly to the Director of Compensation, Benefits & HCMS. Participates in salary surveys ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of responses.

Requirements

Education

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, Economics or equivalent related work experience.

  • Licensure: Preferred: HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, etc.)

 

Experience   

  • Required: 3-5 years of experience working in a compensation related role

  • Preferred: Preferably in health care setting

 

Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Equal Pay Act.

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets including the ability to turn a large volume of data into meaningful information.

  • Understanding of HRIS and Payroll systems including the ability to upload data (i.e. pay increases), job information, and reporting relationships.

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and the analytical ability to solve complex problems and issues.  
    Excellent communication and customer services skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization.

  • Ability to balance a dynamic workload with changing priorities, deadlines, and project scopes.

Self-motivated to be organized, achieve high performance standards and accept accountability for performance.
