What does a COMPENSATION MANAGER do for Allegiant?

The Compensation Manager is a new member of the People Services team with no direct reports and will be a critical resource to design and implement practices and policies in support of Allegiant’s overall compensation philosophy. This role collaborates with People Services, Finance, and other key senior stakeholders, ensuring that all compensation programs are aligned with our business objectives and company culture. Combining vision, expertise and analytical skill, this role drives innovative compensation practices and programs to attract, reward and retain high-performing talent as we continue to grow, scale and develop new business lines.

What are some of the daily duties of a COMPENSATION MANAGER?

  • Develop and evaluate the effectiveness of policies, process, and guidelines in all areas of compensation
  • Serve as subject matter expert and system administrator of the Pay Factors compensation tool
  • Participate in and/or drive various compensation related projects which involve revision, development and/or re-design of existing programs
  • Manage job description library and processes overseeing more than 600 unique positions.  Research and recommend a solution to automate and better control all job descriptions including a periodic refresh process
  • Work closely with the Benefits team to ensure the total compensation and rewards programs are complimentary and meet the requirements of Allegiant
  • Collaborate with other key stakeholders to participate in the development, implementation, administration, communication of base pay and incentive programs including new lines of business
  • Provide compensation consultation to managers and People Services team on all compensation issues (i.e. promotions, internal movement, market competitiveness, market pricing, and industry trends/best practices, cycle increases, off-cycle increases)
  • Participate in salary surveys, and analyze data from survey and other sources to determine internal equity and external competitiveness
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment-related federal and state statutory requirements regarding employee pay
  • Other duties as assigned





What are the minimum requirements to be a COMPENSATION MANAGER?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 4 years of experience administering compensation based programs, policies and processes
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred
  • Must pass background check
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986


What other skills, knowledge, and qualifications are needed to be a COMPENSATION MANAGER? 

  • Experience designing and rolling out compensation structures at a growing company
  • Excellent judgement and ability to exercise a high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential, business-critical information
  • Sharp eye for detail; meticulous in creating records and documentation
  • Broad experience with HRIS and compensation tools; track record of using technology to improve processes
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations in U.S.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, ability to work with different departments and third-party resources to achieve mutual goals
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, data, project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully both independently and as part of a team
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint


What are the physical requirements of a COMPENSATION MANAGER?

  • Office environment
  • Travel less than 10% to offsite work locations or industry conferences
