The Director, Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action HR Compliance will provide leadership and collaboration with Faculty Labor Relations and Diversity and Inclusion, and counsel on workforce compliance, and affirmative action.  This position will identify potential areas of equal opportunity and will counsel department heads related to this area; assesses training needs in affirmative action and implements strategies to highlight positive action steps; will work to create an environment that is free from discrimination and harassment on the basis of a protected class such as race, color, national origin, gender, age, and sexual orientation/identity.

Requirements

Education/experience/licensing:
-Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Legal, or related field required.
-Advanced degree in Business, HR, or related field or Juris Doctor strongly preferred.
-7-10 years of experience specifically in a high level compliance function, including conducting internal investigations, preferably in Human Resources.
-Experience in the area of internal equity, diversity, and inclusion, access or affirmative action.
-Experience in higher education preferred.
-Strong knowledge of EEO employment laws and OFCCP regulations
-Providing strategic direction that influences diversity, equity, and affirmative action efforts and leading an organization toward its goals.
-Demonstrated understanding of Federal and state discrimination law and regulations required.
-Demonstrated track record of creative leadership in the development and articulation of affirmative action policy and strategy.
Communication and other skills:
-Ability to prioritize and work within tight deadlines.
-Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to collaborate with others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint required.
-Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the university.
-Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
-Sound strategic-thinking and consulting skills in guiding the campus toward workable strategies and solutions in the area of complaint resolution procedures and practices.
-Experience conducting sensitive, neutral "fact finding" interviews with complainants, respondents and witnesses in cases with emotionally charged fact patterns.
