Position Purpose:

The Director of Human Resources is a key member of the Global HR Team delivering high level human resources services to create a world-class organization and to help meet the strategic business goals of the Company. This includes the implementation and the coordination of processes, policies, and programs regarding organization development, on-boarding, talent acquisition, talent development, retention, training and development, employee benefit strategy, legal and ethical compliance, employee relations and payroll.Company: Micron

You will be responsible for driving and leading the organizational people strategy and initiatives across multiple sites. You will partner with the Senior Management to manage complex, ongoing functional challenges, change processes stemming from fluctuations in business strategy and organizational priorities. In addition, you will be a key advisor on the development of long term goals of the organization, structure, talent matters and decisions.

A successful candidate is comfortable working in and supporting customers in a matrixed global organization as well as skilled at building relationships at all level of the organization.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assesses the competitiveness of Company’s programs and practices against similar companies, markets, and industries to ensure the Company continues to attract and retain world class talent.
  • Develops recruiting strategies such as staffing programs to identify internal and external talent for all levels within the Company.
  • Develop, manage, and implement, performance management strategies, policies, procedures and transactions with the goal to attract, engage and retain a highly qualified and talented work force for the manufacturing industry.
  • Responsible for consistent administration of employee benefit programs to include all welfare plan compliance and complete 401k administration, compliance and annual audit.
  • Ensures the Company is in compliance with country, federal, state, and local laws with policies and procedures. Monitors legal compliance, develops policies and procedures, and makes recommendations on policies and procedures.
  • Acts as HR Business Partner by providing guidance and counsel on variety of issues that include but not limited to – employee relations, conflict resolution, interpersonal communications, policies and procedures, and country, federal, state, and local law.
  • Provide a strong HR presence for the company, developing and maintaining open and productive communication with all employees.
  • Assists in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and communication of all employee-related programs and activities.
  • Align safety strategies with workers compensation policies. Ensure a safe environment by reducing risk and promoting safety programs.
  • Leads and evaluates the Human Resources Department for continual improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of the group.
  • Drive implementation of HR strategies, programs and solutions
  • Champion change initiatives, organizational values and culture




  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Position requires 25% travel; domestically and internationally
  • Prior experience in, both, manufacturing and global or international settings
  • Hands on Work Ethic – Job is 30% strategic and 70% functional



  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management/related field from an accredited college/university, or combination of education and experience

License/Certification/Required Documents

  • Preferred PHR/SPHR/GPHR or SHRM-SCP



  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience as a Human Resources Manager with focus on recruiting, training and employee relations and payroll oversight in a high-tech manufacturing environment.      
  • 5+ years of experience leading multi- site locations as well as cross-functional regional projects of significant scope, complexity, and of a highly sensitive nature.
  • Minimum of 10 years general experience working with key HR concepts and practices (talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits).

Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the vast realm of all HR disciplines
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws and labor codes
  • Extensive working knowledge of welfare and retirement plans including 5500 filings, audits, contract agreements and compliance issues.
  • Knowledge and management of payroll processing
  • Ability to interact/collaborate with all levels of employees and management
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
