About the Position
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations and serving as a strategic partner with the Trust executive team, the Director oversees the Trust's organizational development and talent management program, supporting a world-class team of fundraising professionals. S/he is responsible for a comprehensive program encompassing onboarding, professional development, engagement and retention. The Director works closely with the Trust executive team to ensure the program's alignment with Trust values, staffing needs and performance goals. S/he will be an essential resource for Trust executive and senior management regarding staff and departmental planning, learning development, performance management, and staff engagement and satisfaction. S/he will leverage his/her own experience in fundraising as well as best practices to develop onboarding and training programs specific to Trust policies and procedures as well as industry-standard skills, knowledge, and competencies. S/he works closely with the Manager of Trust Administration as well as the Trust's assigned contacts in Hospital HR on all matters related to talent management. The Director is responsible for developing new systems, strategies, and policies to increase staff effectiveness and retention, in service of the Trust goal to be the workplace of choice within Boston-area (and beyond) fundraising landscape

Key Responsibilities
The Director will:

Lead the Trust's staff training, development and engagement programs, encompassing onboarding, skill-specific training, professional and leadership development, team-building, and staff recognition and celebration initiatives
Partner with the Trust executive team, as well as Trust senior managers, to identify talent management needs and to set priorities for new programs or strategies
Work closely with the Trust's assigned contacts in Hospital HR to ensure alignment with Hospital practice while also representing the Trust's diverse and unique business needs
Oversee the Trust's learning development and performance management programs, including the accuracy and currency of job descriptions, clear career paths, effective performance appraisal and coaching programs. Builds strong partnerships with colleagues across the Trust to understand their business needs and to advance onboarding strategies and development programs to meet those needs.
Take on special projects, strategic analyses, and other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications
The Director will have:
10 to 15 years broad professional experience, ideally bringing together a combination of fundraising with significant management experience. Experience in the development profession required
Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication; strong interpersonal skills; ability to foster respectful communication and collaboration
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Experience and demonstrated leadership in one or more industry associations (e.g., AFP, Woodmark, CASE)
Experience working in a fast-paced, team oriented, environment with quickly shifting priorities
Ability to maintain discretion and the highest ethical and professional standards while dealing with confidential information required
Master's degree is preferred
