Enterprise Community Partners and Enterprise Community Investment are seeking an innovative and transformational leader who will be responsible for creating and advancing the organizational plan and strategic direction of the organization in the areas of diversity and inclusion. The Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will lead Enterprise’s diversity and inclusion efforts, ensuring that the organization is attracting and retaining employees while also creating opportunities for growth and professional development. This individual will work with external partners and staff at all levels to develop and implement strategies to advance Enterprises DEI strategy, foster a positive and inclusive work environment for everyone, and ensure that diversity and inclusion considerations are incorporated in the talent decision making processes. This individual will work on the Talent Management team to
 build and execute talent strategies for the continued development of internal talent and leadership pipeline.

 

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides strategic guidance and operational assistance for diversity, equity and inclusion, including policies, procedures, action plans and metrics to effectively support leadership accountability.
  • Participates on the DEI Council and provides project management and facilitation for meetings, work teams, and coordination with formal communications.
  • Develops a strategy for outreach to universities, professional organizations, other diversity organizations to create relationships and a pipeline of candidates.
  • In partnership with leaders and the Director of Talent Management, develops a training and education strategy for DEI that creates a culture that embraces diversity at all levels, highlights the importance of maintaining a culturally sensitive work environment. This includes incorporation of elements like e-learning and classroom training.
  • Consults to improve our organization’s environment; ensuring we foster a culture that is inclusive, innovative, willing to take risks, that proactively leverages multiple dimensions of diversity.
  • Enables success of the Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in terms of structure, governance and accountability that will embed diversity and inclusion capabilities in their respective environments, including accountability measures aligned to the business success.
  • Develops a diversity strategy for recruitment to ensure Enterprise attracts diverse candidates externally as the retention and progression within the company. This includes recruitment practices and metrics.  Partners with the recruitment team for specific events and recruiting efforts.
  • Partners with Communications and the DEI working team to develop a diversity & inclusion communications strategy
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition, Talent Development and HR Business Partners to continuously seek opportunities to promote diverse talent within the company and develop company-wide awareness of diversity and inclusivity.
  • Builds relationships at all levels of the organization to foster engagement with DEI efforts and involves leaders in sourcing external partnerships, events, and placement for DEI branding

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Human Resources or Organizational Development preferred
  • 5-10 years Human Resources experience including work experience in the following areas (recruitment, human resources, professional development, diversity and inclusion, organizational development, supporting and leading major change initiatives).
  • Experience project managing and advancing an organizational culture into one of inclusivity, equity, and diversity in a large organization or nonprofit environment.
  • Significant experience in facilitating training designed to enhance employee knowledge, skills, understanding, respect, and advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and in the community.
  • Ability to create and implement tools to enable managers, directors, and executives to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies into their work and professional relationships with other staff members.
  • Skilled in project management, interpersonal communication, consulting, facilitation, persuasion, and leadership.
  • Understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Fluency in all Microsoft Office applications and generally strong technology skills.
