AIR is excited to add to their diverse Human Capital team with an experienced HR Business Partner. This position will reside in our Georgetown, Washington, DC office. The HR Business Partner is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support. The role is critical in executing our people initiatives and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.


• Advises internal client groups’ management on employee relations matters. Mitigates organizational risk in day-to-day human capital management: hiring, staff development, discipline, terminations, employee complaints and legal actions, etc.
• Coaches assigned client leadership, management and staff on human capital issues and topics.
• Understands the talent needs and helps anticipate talent issues (holistic and individual) for recruitment and development planning.
• Collaborates with recruiting team to ensure effective implementation of the recruiting strategy and process within assigned practice areas.
• Works with assigned client leadership in conjunction with learning and development staff in determining staff performance and development plans.
• Supports Performance Management process within internal client groups.
• Analyzes quantitative/qualitative human capital data regarding assigned client groups.
• Provides important trend information to clients and HR staff for identification of required program, initiative or similar response.
• Actively monitors compensation program for internal equity issues.
• Monitors turnover. Works with internal client groups in retention programs.
• Knowledgeable about corporate engagement initiatives; and supports related implementation activities.
• Collaborates with HR Business Partner team on continual development of consulting skills in order to increase impact and strengthen partnerships with client groups.
• Manages ad hoc projects. 



• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology or related discipline, Master’s degree or current enrollment in a Master’s program, preferred. 
• 6-9 years of relevant experience, minimum of 4 years in a HR Business Partner role. 
Consulting skills required, including ability to understand internal client business needs and to explain Human Capital processes and principles to managers and staff.
• Experience implementing or supporting full cycle of HR policies, practices and procedures; knowledge of employment law.
• Demonstrated experience in coaching managers on human capital management.
• Tactfulness and self-confidence to appropriately maintain employee confidential information. 
• Ability to lead projects, define goals, set milestones and follow through on deliverables in a highly matrixed organization. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentations and training.
• Experience utilizing HRIS and applicant tracking systems, Lawson, ADP and iCIMS preferred. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills and critical thinking.
• Passion for innovative solutions in order to develop and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex business issues.
