As the Human Resources Director, you will oversee a growing team of professionals who administer various HR functions of the company including payroll administration, benefits administration, recruitment, hiring, onboarding, policy implementation, performance management, employment law compliance, employee relations, training, and off-boarding. You will be responsible for continuing to grow your team as the company increases in size.

  • You are detailed-oriented and understand the importance of accuracy when it comes to managing benefits and payroll

About our Silver Spring office:

The Silver Spring office of Toole Design Group is our corporate headquarters.  We are conveniently located just outside of Washington DC in downtown Silver Spring, two blocks from the Silver Spring Metrorail/MARC Station. Our beautiful 8th floor suite offers stunning views of DC and surrounding Montgomery County. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit.  Our team is a dynamic mix of planners, engineers, landscape architects and administrative professionals.

You’ll need:

  • 6-10+ years of experience as an HR Director or HR generalist, preferably with experience managing other HR professionals
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • SHRM-PC, PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of HR software is a plus
  • Experience performing HR functions for an organization with satellite offices preferred
