Job Title:         Human Resources Generalist

Job Purpose

The HR Generalist is responsible for the administration and management of the employee benefits programs, full-cycle on-boarding and off-boarding, and maintaining employee relations across our company.

The HR Generalist will work with external benefit and compensation vendors, benefit administrators, government compliance organizations, and any resource that helps to drive a successful product for our organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the administration of benefit plans including but not limited to: 401(k), medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance plans, flex spending accounts, health savings accounts, employee assistance programs, and COBRA
  • Partners with outside benefits broker for complex issues, management of claim issues, and recommendations related to compliance and efficiency in administering benefit plans for Omitron
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations
    • OSHA, EEO, VETS, AAP, 401K (annual audits) 5500 reporting, Flexible Spending (non-discrimination testing), Annual Medicare Notifications, Generate & provide 1095-C’s to employees, New hire reporting, Annual HIPAA Notices
    • Manage on-boarding and off-boarding tasks including offer letters, new hire orientation and training, new hire documentation, E-verify compliance, exit interviews, unemployment and more
  • Manage and maintain the HRIS (BambooHR) for personnel records and job postings
  • Assist with recruitment efforts
  • Manage employee relations and mediate employee(s) disputes or misunderstandings
  • Assist in company social events
  • Other duties as assigned


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

The person must possess strong business acumen, solid analytical skills, excellent knowledge of benefits administration processes, knowledge of benefit contract language, factors that influence the cost of employee benefits, pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirement affecting employee benefit programs and compensation laws and requirements. The candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of the relationship between Benefits Administration and Human Resources.

Education and/or Experience

  • BS/BA degree in business, finance, human resources or equivalent experience is required. Working towards the SHRM-CP is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of direct applicable experience in administration of benefit programs, including 401K and medical benefits
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commonly-used concepts, best practices, and procedures within human resources and benefits administration
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize for timely completion of large, concurrent projects with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. benefit and employment laws/regulation; familiarity with compensation laws
  • Proven ability to maintain highly confidential information
  • Experience with BambooHR or similar HRIS system


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated ability to interact with internal and external customers at multiple levels
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and data analysis skills
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills
  • Proven competency with mathematical and statistical techniques
  • Effective team interaction/linking, both peer to peer and supervisor to employee
  • Able to develop/modify process, establish procedures and execute plans, through proper and accurate analytical & diagnostic process
  • Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment
  • Must thrive in a dynamic and ever changing work environment
  • Must be innovative and flexible.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
