Korean Air’s American Regional Headquarters is currently seeking global-minded Human Resources Manager who will contribute to the success and growth of the Company.

 

 1.      About the Job

  • Position:           Human Resources Manager (JOB CODE: LAXDA1801HM)
  • Location:         Wilshire Grand Center, 900 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90017
  • Job Type:         Full-Time, Contract Position
  • Salary :            Negotiable. Candidates must submit their salary requirement with resume.

 

 2.      Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Human Resources
    • o   Provide guidance and express ideas/advice to executive leadership, HR colleagues and employees in various areas, including but not limited to personnel issues, compensation/benefits, employee relations and employment laws.
    • o   Act as liaison between Regional Headquarters and station managers/employees; counsel and offer direction and clarify company policy and procedures.
    • o   Investigate and respond to employee issues to ensure a resolution; prepare documentation reports on such investigation activities.
    • o   Handle administrative and accounting matters, such as medical insurance and workers’ compensation renewal and payments.
    • o   Research and analyze data in order to prepare reports that will meet the federal, state and local mandate reporting requirements, including but not limited to EEOC, OSHA, 5500 filing and Canada pension plans.
    • Risk Management
      • o   Develop guidelines and procedures to address high-risk and vulnerable areas within the organization.
      • o   Plan and execute organization-wide risk management program to minimize work-related risks.
      • o   Review current policies and make recommendations to comply with risk mitigation procedures.
    • Compliance
      • o   Maintain comprehensive organization-wide corporate compliance programs.
      • o   Conduct investigations to identify, clarify and resolve potential compliance issues.
      • o   Report activities and outcomes to executive leadership, and recommend actions to improve the overall compliance program in the company.
    • Perform other duties andprojects as assigned by the management.

 


 3.      Required Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to travel internationally and domestically (travel time: 5-10%).
  • At least 3 to 5 years of HR management experience, particularly in managing multiple sites and states.
  • Working knowledge of employment law including FMLA, EEO, ADA, FLSA, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Human Resources or other relevant disciplines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).

 

 4.      Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional HR certification (SHRM, HRCI, etc).
  • Experience in international airline industry.
  • Experience in other parts of HR disciplines (recruitment, termination, compensation, etc).
