HR Manager

We are currently looking for a HR Manager to join our Human Resource team based in Reston, VA. Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Regional, the HR Manager will be responsible for providing day-to-day HR service and support to the North American regional office by providing a consultancy service to line managers and employees in the areas of talent management and development, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and training.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides HR Generalist support to regional client groups and their staff by providing and managing all baseline HR programs (this mirrors support provided by Field Senior HR Managers; footprint is the same nationwide)
  • Acts as a HR business partner to client group by developing and implementing HR strategy for client group; Assists with re-organizations and restructuring strategy for client group
  • Provides full-cycle talent management support; Provides performance planning, performance management support including PIPs
  • Educates managers on HR policy and compliance requirements
  • Manages employee relations for client group; Manages retention strategy and termination process for client group including exit interviews
  • Handles all EEO compliance and litigation issues with client group, interface with legal
  • Responsible for implementing training initiatives for client group (e.g. competency training, setting goals and objectives)
  • Conducts new hire orientation and provides on-boarding support for client group
  • Assists managers with drafting position approval requests, salary adjustment requests and supporting documents for approval
  • Prepares and manages consulting agreements in coordination with and support for the Compliance and Legal departments.
  • FMLA administrator for all regional employees
  • Ensures all HR best practices, procedures are followed



  • Bachelor degree from a four year college or university required, or equivalent experience.

Work Experience:

  • At least five years’ experience in progressively responsible human resource generalist roles  
  • Experience working in transportation, hospitality, manufacturing or food service environment highly desirable

Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)

  • Must also have proficiency in all areas of EEO/Title VII compliance including expertise in investigating and formally responding to Title VII charges 
  • Must have strong computer and database application skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Must be knowledgeable in both Federal and State employment law 
  • Experience handling immigration and work authorization matters in a business environment highly desirable
