We are currently looking for qualified candidates for the full-time position of Jr. Human Resources Generalist. The Jr. Human Resources Generalist will provide support on HR initiatives including but not limited to: benefits administration, employment laws, onboarding, employee relations, and other day-to-day activities.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Familiarity with employment laws, benefits, and employee relations.
  • Experience with HRIS applications.
  • Good technical abilities including Word, Excel (pivot tables) and other Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Ability to initiate actions and solve problems using sound judgement.
  • Minimum of 3 years of general Human Resources experience
  • Highly organized and ability to manage a fast paced and multi-tasking environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the pension hour and HR statistics reports.
  • Assist, prepare and maintain department reports, bi-weekly payroll reports, headcount reports, personnel transaction activity (hires, promotions, transfer, terminations, etc) and additional reports as necessary.
  • Responsible for data input and integrity of Payroll and HRIS systems.
  • Enhancing employee and manager HRIS experience by visiting departments/branches, giving one-on-one lessons, and creating reports that are easily accessible.
  • Administers health and welfare plans including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.
  • Responsible for creating personal and office name badges for all employees.
  • Support all employee events through the planning process and provide active participation.
  • Handle administrative support in the dissemination of letters, memos, operational updates to improve the overall work flow of the department.
  • Back-up to Cobra Administrator for all of NEFCU’s benefit plans.  
  • Processes monthly bills from insurance providers. Reviews bills for accuracy, codes and advances for payment according to branch accounting standards. Resolves discrepancies with carriers, payroll and the company. Completes reports for management as requested.
  • Reconciliation of payroll and benefit General Ledger accounts
  • Respond to employee benefit inquiries.
  • Assist with employee disability and workers compensation records and liaison with third party administrator regarding claims and third party sick payments.
  • Accurate and organized maintenance of active and terminated employees’ personnel files.
  • Conduct research on Human Resource practices, policies, legal regulations and trends as needed.
  • Participates in developing processes improvements to meet department goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation on the EEOC reports annually.


Bachelors Degree in Human Resources with 1-3 years of HR experience, PHR certification desired. Concentration in  Benefits, Compliance, Employee Relations, and HRIS a plus.
