Senior Human Resources Business Partner

 

LOCATION

Richmond, VA

 

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, HR for Genworth’s US Life Insurance Business, this person will serve as a Senior HR Business partner to support achievement of business objectives. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute key HR strategies and initiatives in support of the strategic goals of several US Life organizations.
  • Provide coaching to Senior Leaders and associates to influence and drive outcome and change.
  • As an internal consultant, lead key processes including talent management and development, organizational design, succession planning performance management, compensation planning, and employee relations activities.
  • Be the advocate to ensure that the HR needs of assigned functions are being met and provide strategic input to HR shared services planning processes.
  • Monitor progress of HR programs and initiatives against HR and business metrics, milestones and goals
  • Partner with clients to determine the best interventions to drive high performance levels and enhance team effectiveness. Facilitate the implementation of solutions and monitor effectiveness.
  • Partner with the recruiting team to oversee staffing initiatives to effectively recruit, interview and select candidates.
  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve employee relations, work performance, and organizational productivity concerns. Support management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions. Effectively mitigate legal risks.
  • Provide coaching/consulting on change initiatives to drive organizational change and enhance business performance.
  • Partner with leadership and other teams across Genworth to ensure programs and practices align to the desired culture, employee engagement, community relations and diversity goals of the organization.
  • Balance needs of the business with employee advocacy. 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA degree in Human Resources or relative discipline
  • 7 years Human Resources experience including strategic support of senior executives to align HR practices with business priorities
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering high impact solutions as a business partner
  • Demonstrated negotiation, coaching, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to provide coaching and feedback to senior level leaders
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of the organization to address a broad ranges of issues
  • Strong analytical approach to solving issues/challenges
  • Demonstrated track record of employee advocacy and strategic business partnership
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills with ability to energize and coach others

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • SPHR, PHR, and/or SHRM-SCP
  • Experience supporting leaders and organizations through significant cultural changes
  • Experience working with organizations during times of mergers and acquisitions
