Business Career Services within the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida is actively seeking two candidates to fill Associate Director, Career Coaching roles within the Department. Business Career Services and our Career Coaches serve as a key point of contact for our undergraduate and graduate business students to receive career advising and coaching, along with assisting in their internship and full-time job placement search strategy.

Key responsibilities include one-on-one career coaching and broad-based career management support. One Associate Director role includes assisting our undergraduate business students, with the other Associate Director role assisting our Professional MBA students. As a Career Coach, you will develop and continually refine students’ realistic career development strategies and assist them in such aspects as resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, career development assessment, along with job search and lead generation strategies and execution. In addition, the Associate Director, Career Coach will be responsible for the creation and delivery of career workshops/seminars/webinars for both small and large groups, along with taking part in special events such as career fairs and professional development events.

The Business Career Services team consists of 80+ years of combined work experience in the private sector representing such industries as executive search, management consulting, technology and talent acquisition to name a few. Our team takes a consultative approach to working with both students and employers in ensuring they are receiving a high-level of service from our talented team of career coaches and operations staff. We are looking for candidates that possess a private sector background, with experience in talent acquisition, human resources, consulting, and/or campus recruiting experience. Requirements

  • The successful candidate is required to possess seven (7)-plus years of professional work experience, preferably in a corporate and/or academic setting. The ideal candidate will have professional work experience in functional areas such as corporate recruiting, human resources, talent acquisition, training and development, university career services to name a few. 
  • An MBA or other advanced business degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong customer focus (ability to listen attentively to students and recruiters and to understand and respond positively to their requests) is required
  • Strong project management skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • An entrepreneurial orientation, proven track record of taking initiative and making things happen (i.e. self-starter)
  • Excellent resume, interviewing and job search skills
  • Highly proficient with web-based resources, spreadsheet and presentation software required (MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)
  • Strong understanding of business degree career paths and management level career issues along with in-depth understanding of the college recruiting employment market and corporate hiring practices/process
  • Ability to work under pressure, with the flexibility to respond to changing priorities and fluctuating workloads
  • Strong organizational work skills, defining tasks, prioritizing assignments, and following through on all projects independently
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Evidence of being relationship-driven with the proven ability to establish rapport with students, faculty, and recruiters.
  • Must be able to develop effective presentations and speak confidently to large audiences.
  • Track record of successfully collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strategic-thinker that has solved complex problems and enacted positive change in a large organization.
