Job Summary:

The Total Rewards Manager develops, directs and oversees the strategic planning, design, implementation and administration of KHI’s total rewards functions in order to achieve organizational objectives and drive a competitive position in the marketplace. The Total Rewards function includes all compensation, benefits, wellness, HR technology, employee programs, wellness, and recruiting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the Compensation and Benefits (including Wellness), HRIS, Employee Programs and Recruiting functions in managing the day-to-day activities and all respective budgets.
  • Design and implement a total rewards strategy, including broad-based and executive base salary, variable compensation and equity pay structures, aligned with KHI’s objectives, initiatives and budget guidelines.
  • Partner with the Finance team to ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place for all compensation programs, as well as for evaluating and analyzing cost implications of current and proposed plans.
  • Provide compensation consultation to managers and the broader HR team on all compensation issues, i.e. promotions, internal mobility, market competitiveness, position benchmarking studies, and industry trends/best practices.
  • Conduct regular or as needed gap-to-market assessments of compensation positioning relative to the competitive market.
  • Development and oversight of health and wellness plans and retirement programs, assessing competitiveness of the existing benefits programs in light of total compensation and identify, recommend and implement changes to improve effectiveness of plans.
  • Development and administration of wellness programs and activities designed to improve employee health and well-being.
  • Recommends changes and/or additions to programs that reflect the changing needs of KHI’s employees.
  • Manage and negotiate with brokers and third party solution providers.
  • Manages all aspects of the planning, development, testing, implementation, customer reporting and user support for the HRIS system. This includes integration of HRIS with other business applications as appropriate.
  • Promotes proactive approaches using the HRIS to solve business needs/problems, while also enhancing the understanding and acceptance of the HRIS capabilities. Based on business need, negotiates priorities and support requirement with the IT and Finance Departments, as appropriate.
  • Serves as HR Lead in metrics and statistical data report development; in concert with IT, manages HRIS analysis, documentation and development, software upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Provides leadership and structure to HR projects, providing methods, processes and tools to plan, execute and monitor projects.
  • Drives the continuous enhancement/improvement of the HR Operations strategy using LEAN methodologies.
  • Lead the Recruitment team to strategically develop, implement and manage the full-cycle recruitment process for all new hires and internal transfers.
  • Responsible for all onboarding programs, including New Employee Orientation.
  • Evaluates trends in recruitment and the job market and develops competitive new hire offer packages.
  • Develops recruitment measurement definitions, regular metrics reporting and takes proper actions to close gaps.
  • Serves as an expert resource for the team in resolving complex recruiting issues and solving technical problems.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use the KHI's and the health care industry's standards, procedures and policies relevant to human resources management.
  • Knowledge of and ability to provide advice on federal, state and local laws and regulations governing employment practices and ability to interpret and take action on the aspects of employment laws that impact the business and HR practices.
  • Ability to promote KHI and the City of Kingman to candidates and external service providers.
  • Ability to prepare and present analyses, materials and recommendations to senior leadership and appropriate committees.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to create an atmosphere in which goals and objectives are met through teamwork and cooperation.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of all aspects of administering equity-based programs, including employee education, accounting, tax, and legal implications.
  • Practical, business-oriented approach to problem solving, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balanced by an appreciation for complexity and risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence audiences of varying sizes and increasing levels of complexity.
  • A proven mentor and coach, with demonstrated ability to build and develop a high functioning total rewards team, with a hands-on management style, excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and excellent collaborative interpersonal skills.
