Benefits & Compensation Specialist Job Details
NCSA’s Benefits & Compensation Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Company’s group benefit and compensation programs and serves as our subject matter expert on benefits and compensation practices. The incumbent will oversee the management of our benefits vendor relationships, contracts, and negotiations in partnership with our benefits broker. The Specialist provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of benefits and compensation programs.  The Benefits & Compensations Specialist will monitor and maintain our compensation and benefits plans, policies, and structures to ensure they continue to support the Company’s business strategy and remain competitive, cost effective, and legally compliant. 
Job Responsibilities
  • Provides insights and recommendations regarding the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of our benefits including health, welfare, disability/life, EAP, retirement, and other rewards and perks.
  • Analyzes the market competitiveness and cost-effectiveness of our benefit plans to ensure they optimize our ability to attract and retain top talent.
  • Oversees the management of our benefits vendor relationships, benefits contracts, and negotiations.
  • Manages annual open enrollment processes for benefits renewals; reviews and updates written communication and enrollment materials, prepares for and conducts benefits meetings, revises benefit summaries, revises benefit orientation documents, ensures distribution and receipt of documents and processes changes with vendors.
  • Manages new hire benefits enrollment processes; conducts orientation meeting, distributes benefits summary information, answers questions as needed, and processes new hire enrollments online.
  • Reconciles monthly carrier billing; communicate with carriers regarding any outstanding/incorrect items ensuring resolution occurs.
  • Administers and manages the company’s 401K plan, reviewing and disbursing hardship withdrawals, monitor employees plan eligibility, updating teammate contribution amounts in our Payroll system, and reconciling issues.
  • Maintains current knowledge of related government rules and regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security act (ERISA), FLSA, ADA, COBRA, OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, and other applicable Labor and/or Tax laws and regulations
  • Fulfills compliance and reporting requirements including ACA, COBRA SPD, 5500 Reporting for ERISA Plans, etc.; updates and distributes all annual notices and required disclosures.
  • Conducts salary and labor market research to define benchmarks
  • Provides compensation analysis and reporting on an as needed basis.
  • Generate and distribute total compensation statements to teammates.

Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum three years of relevant benefits and compensation administration experience
  • Experience using HRIS systems; Paylocity and/or bSwift experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills, thoroughness, and attention to detail are required
  • Previous Project Management experience strongly preferred
