The newly formed Classification and Compensation unit in the Office of Human Resources is seeking two qualified individuals to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Classification and Compensation, we are hoping to fill both a Senior Classification and Compensation Analyst as well as a Classification and Compensation Analyst. Incumbents will be responsible for participating in the administration of classification and compensation functions for the University’s workforce, providing technical expertise and advice to key stakeholders including hiring managers, University leadership, and HR partners. Incumbents will analyze and evaluate positions for alignment with the University’s compensation practices, collective bargaining agreements, regulatory requirements, and internal and external comparators. These positions will exercise sound judgement in regards to confidential and/or sensitive information, provide assistance through a consultative and collaborative approach, and influence stakeholders to find effective outcomes.  Responsibilities include conducting research, project work, and participation in the development of related proposals for compensation program updates. Incumbents will identify and act upon relationships between strategic priorities and areas of responsibility.  These positions will also assist with the development and delivery of related training for key stakeholders. 

The Senior Analyst will also complete more complex research, analyze salary data and respond to salary surveys, and assess compensation implications for problems and propose solutions.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
Analyst
• Bachelor’s degree plus two years of classification and compensation, human resources, or other relevant experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and related experience

Senior Analyst
• Bachelor's degree plus three years of classification and compensation, human resources, or other relevant experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience and familiarity with the use of Human Resources Information Systems
• Experience in project management

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, consultative, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to function cooperatively and productively as a member of a team
• Provide excellent customer service by building and maintaining effective rapport with colleagues
• Prioritize work, meet deadlines, and exhibit flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
• Intermediate proficiency with analytical functions of Microsoft Excel
• Effectiveness in project management, including presentation and facilitation skills  
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to address various audiences utilizing various platforms
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

In addition to the above, the Senior Analyst must also have:
• Advanced proficiency with analytical functions of Microsoft Excel
• Excellent critical thinking consultative and problem-solving skills
• Excellent human relations and facilitation skills in order to effectively handle matters that require tact, discretion, influence, and diplomacy

Preferred Qualifications
Analyst
• Two years of direct experience evaluating positions for classification and compensation
• Experience working in a higher education environment
• PHR or SHRM, or other related certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or Resources, Business Management, Public Administration, or related field

In addition to the above, the Senior Analyst would also have:
• Four years of human resources administration experience that includes compensation analysis and evaluation of positions for proper classification.
• Experience working with and interpreting collective bargaining agreements
• Advanced degree in Human Services or Resources, Business Management, Public Administration, or related field
