We are looking for a Compensation Analyst to support the day-today activities of the Organizational Development (OD) Team. This role provides advanced level consultations, guidance, and direction of compensation to Human Resources Professionals, C-suite, and GLWA Leadership Team Members. The Compensation Analyst spearheads compensation projects and serves as the compensation subject matter expert (SME) on organization-wide initiatives.

  • You will develop, maintain and continually expand a good working knowledge of GLWA’s business strategy to advise on various topics such as compensation trends, role definition, legal and regulatory requirements, and total rewards to provide effective consultation to the GLWA Teams.

  • You will coordinate compensation programs and processes, including pay structures, annual compensation planning, performance management, and merit processes.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Advanced Human Resources Information Management Systems (HRIS), payroll management, and administration
  • Regulatory and statutory requirements related to compensation for both federal, provincial, and state jurisdictions as applicable
  • Advanced Level Microsoft Excel, Office and database management
  • Advanced math, statistical, and problem-solving mechanisms
  • Union contracts and collective bargaining agreements

Skill to:

  • Build Innovative presentations with the skill to easily translate analytical data to partners at all levels of the organization
  • Find opportunities for improvement and change in compensation programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize audits, reports, and analysis to ensure that compensation programs are consistently coordinated in compliance with company policies and government regulations and improve workforce productivity and efficiency.

Ability to:

  • Present information to OD and functional groups across the organization regarding compensation topics.
  • Participate in compensation surveys, conduct benchmarking and best practice analyses, and develop recommendations.
  • Create and implement new compensation policies and programs
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Build cross-functional relationships
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain solid attention to detail, with the skill to self-audit work

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration or related field of study
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Certification or working towards certification preferred
  • Five (5) years of experience in Compensation, Finance, or general Human Resources
  • Possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License and the ability to drive a motor vehicle on all terrain.
