Job Summary:

The Director of Human Resources performs Human Resource-related duties at the Executive Level. The primary responsibilities will be to work closely with the Executive teams in the Corporate and Business Units to ensure that HR goals, objectives and initiatives are supported through the implementation of employee relations strategies, performance management, educational outreach programs, implementation of HR best practices and open communication between employees and management. Works with the business units to identify skills gaps, recruit and hire new talent. Works with HR team to develop and implement employee benefit programs to attract and retain talent.  

Position Requirements:

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; works with the Corporate HR team in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual

  • Maintain good communication and a positive relationship with managers to promote employee satisfaction and retention

  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program; and writes and places advertisements
  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement
  • Works with business unit team to recruit talent; on boards employees and keeps open communication with new hires to assist in the transition into the company

  • Reviews and assists management with the content of performance management and works to enhance employee performance; monitors documents used to evaluate, correct and enhance job performance and other workplace behaviors, assuring overall fairness and consistency, and meeting business requirements

  • Provides coaching and consulting to managers in order to enhance their people and performance management skills

  • Develop employee relations strategies to help all levels of management solve employee relations issues

  • Provides feedback and information to the corporate HR Team regarding HR issues and concerns presented by employees

  • Monitors the legal landscape for employment law and works with corporate to recommend/implement any necessary changes

  • Works with legal counsel on any audits or HR related matters regarding government compliance

  • Develop and maintain company AAP; oversee recruitment venues to assure compliance with regulations

  • Frequent travel to the business units

  • Performs other HR duties as needed including special projects as assigned

Requirements

Competencies and Requirements:

 

  • Undergrad degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related degree
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Human Resource Department
  • HR certification preferred
  • Strong Business Acumen
