Premier Chicago Not-For-Profit organization is seeking to hire a Director of Human Resources. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this position will provide HR leadership in a generalist capacity with primary focus on talent acquisition and employee relations. We are seeking a dynamic individual with experience stewarding organizational culture and employee engagement aligned with a new strategic plan.

Responsibilities in talent acquisition and employee relations includes:

  • Lead strategy to ensure the business units served continuously attract, develop and retain top performers.
  • Partner with operations vice presidents and other senior leaders to develop programs to advance employee satisfaction & engagement, career pathing, mentoring & high potential programs, employee development and change management.
  • Work with hiring managers to develop strategic recruitment plans. Provide a high level of customer service in consulting with and guiding hiring managers in comprehensive recruitment and staffing issues, policies, and processes.
  • Identify recruiting opportunities by researching new sources for talent, cultivating relationships with internal talent as well as external industry professionals. Utilize broad market knowledge to creatively network to build, manage and maintain a pipeline of qualified and diverse talent.
  • Continuously elevate internal brand of the Talent department as strategic business partners able to deliver on aggressive talent acquisition metrics.
  • Recommend, develop and deploy proactive strategies to further improve employee relations throughout the organization.
  • Lead team to provide guidance and recommends courses of action for problem resolution to department heads and individuals as needed.
  • Skillfully and effectively manage unionized bargaining units in compliance with collective bargaining agreement.
  • Develop & implement policies and procedures regarding HR practices and processes. Upkeep of the employee handbook, policies and procedures manual, and other employee resources and toolkits.



Minimum qualifications: Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with 8 or more years of progressive HR experience and 5 plus years of supervisory experience. Able to demonstrate top talent acquisition and employee experience in a fast paced environment. Must have knowledge of EEO and Labor Laws. A Master’s in Business and SHRM or HRCI designation highly desirable.
