Job Summary: We are seeking a smart, energetic, employee-oriented HR Director in our Corporate Office.  This position reports to the CHRO and has responsibility for providing HR support to multiple sites.  Initial focus will be on HRIS system, and candidates must be tech-savvy.  You will manage staff, interact with people across our company, and be part of an outstanding HR team.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Implements organizational strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributes information, analysis and recommendations to the organization through strategic thinking and direction; assists in establishing annual human resources objectives
  • Oversight and expertise in human resources information systems to provide a high-level of data and information to the company, along with reducing paperwork and increasing access to employees of the company
  • Oversight and direct hands-on recruiting of new hires, including recruiting, selecting, reference- and background-checking, and orienting.
  • Assists in the management and oversight of benefit plans for the corporation
  • Acts as face of Human Resources to multiple sites
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation that affects the company
  • Manages budget for site(s), ensuring efficient use of funds
  • Oversight of payroll and compensation, ensuring the accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters
  • Participates in special projects and committees; oversight of the Activities Committee, including recruiting new participants annually
  • Consults with legal counsel as needed on employment issues
  • Assists in the bi-annual review of the company’s wage and salary program
  • Evaluates staff turnover, cost of hiring, and cost of training; develops strategies to ensure retention
  • Monitors performance review process, ensuring reviews are timely, honest and support the company goals

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

 

Education: Bachelors Degree; Masters preferre

Experience: 7 – 10 years of human resources experience at a manager level or above

Specific Job Skills: Strong knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems, along with timekeeping and online employee self service technology.  Background in benefits administration.

Supervision: Manages clerical and professional staff

 

Ability to maintain confidences and keep information confidential

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to organize and multi-task job responsibilities effectively

Proven commitment to providing excellent customer service within all dimensions of the job duties on a consistent basis

Ability to learn quickly and retain knowledge to apply to new situations

Candidates with knowledge of and experience in Sage HRIS, Sage ESS, Insperity Timekeeping, Sage CyberTrainer, and Berkshire Affirmative Action software will be given special consideration.
