Reporting to the CEO, the director of human resources and organizational development will strategically develop, implement, and direct Glenroy Inc.’s human resources and organizational development functions, initiatives, and practices. The director partners with, and is a valued member of, an enthusiastic and driven executive team. In that capacity, the director creates competitive, talent solutions based on the strategic plan to develop Glenroy’s collaborative, “employer of choice” culture.


Key Result Areas

  • Strategic Leadership:
  1. Create the organizational development and human resources strategies to support Glenroy’s strategic initiatives. Design and implement best practices, project plans, programs, benefits, budgets, and policies to meet related goals.
  2. Coach, guide, partner, and collaborate with the executive team and leaders at all levels on employee related issues to ensure consistency, compliance, and positive outcomes.
  3. Anticipate and meet talent needs through succession planning, strategic talent acquisition (during a talent shortage), reorganizations, and other efforts.
  4. Directly lead and mentor the HR team to deliver results in all HR and organizational development functions and continually improve client service level agreements.
  5. Be a trusted partner to Glenroy leaders, sharing unique insights and leading with courage and full transparency.
  6. Develop and implement value-added, talent related metrics; collect and analyze data to recommend and implement improvement initiatives.
  7. Keep abreast of talent related systems (e.g., HRIS), world class practices, etc.


  • Talent Acquisition & Development:
  1. Develop comprehensive and strategic talent assessment, acquisition, retention, and onboarding systems and processes to meet the needs of a growing organization.
  2. Assess learning and development needs; implement solutions related to onboarding and the development of technical and interpersonal skills of all employees.
  3. Implement an integrated performance management system and related merit reward system.


  • Culture Development:
  1. Lead internal communications including supportive processes and guidelines that share and execute the company’s mission, values, and strategic vision.
  2. Champion employee relations and change management initiatives.
  3. Foster the collaborative, family culture of Glenroy by keeping a pulse on employee morale, engagement, etc. and making recommendations to maintain/increase this based on survey results, discussions, etc.


  • Total Rewards:
  1. Create and maintain competitive total reward packages through benefit design and analysis, compensation design, and other components that reward, recognize, and retain valued employees.   2. Oversee the administration of workers’ compensation, unemployment compensation, etc.


  • Compliance:
  1. Ensure compliance with all employment laws. Conduct investigations and manage escalated or sensitive claims, charges, or related legal issues.
  2. Oversee employee handbook compliance, updates, distribution, etc.
  3. Be the primary contact with legal counsel and employment related government agencies.


 Qualifications and Experience

  • Education & Certification: 
  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development or directly related area
  2. Master’s degree preferred
  3. PHR or SPHR preferred; certification in OD related tools desired, e.g., style assessments, etc.


  • Experience:
  1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a broad, human resources leadership role
  2. Prefer experience leading an HR function in a growing organization that has a positive culture
  3. Strong preference for HR experience in a manufacturing organization
