The Town of Windsor is currently accepting applications for a qualified Director of Human Resources for our Human Resources department. This is a full time, exempt/salaried position and benefit eligible. Incumbents generally work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with frequent evenings and weekends for meetings and problem resolution, as needed.

As a member of the town’s Human Resources Department, the incumbent in the Human Resources (HR) Director position will provide leadership, management and supervision to the HR team, and exceptional service to internal and external clients. The leader in this key position is responsible for the vision, development, coordination, supervision, execution, management and leadership of innovative human resources and talent management strategies for the Town. The Human Resources (HR) Director is responsible for strategic management, leadership and direct supervision of HR staff, initiatives, policies, programs and practices. In addition to the leadership role, the incumbent performs complex analytical work related to a variety of HR professional functional areas.

Hiring Range: $3,396.92 to $5,095.38, bi-weekly, depending on qualifications and experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration/Policy, Pre-Law, Communications or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Four (4) to five (5) years of experience as an HR manager, Sr. HR Generalist, or commensurate role of HR responsibility; public sector experience desired.
  • Two (2) + years of experience must have been as a lead or specialist in two of the following areas: Recruitment/Staffing; Benefits; Compensation; Employee Relations; or, Records/systems. One of the areas of experience must be in benefits and/or compensation.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License and safe driving record for continued employment
  • Certification - one of the following certifications is highly desired: SHRM-CP; SHRM-SCP; HRCI-SPHR/PHR; IPMA-HR (public sector experience may substitute, if certification is obtained within a time period to be specified by the town at time of placement in the position).
