A little bit about Blokable:

We started Blokable in 2016 to change the way housing is developed, built, and owned, and to create a new way to convert land into housing. Our proprietary Blokable Building System unlocks previously unavailable efficiencies through standardized, prefab housing components called Bloks, which can be combined and stacked into a variety of configurations, including high-density, multi-story residential. The combination of our prefab system with our vertically integrated design-build development model enables Blokable to deliver large scale, high quality, low-cost, human-centric housing solutions into regions suffering from the lack of housing options.

Blokable’s business model requires a broad range of people and professions including  product design, architecture, engineering, software development, real estate development, finance, manufacturing and all the support functions across locations in Seattle, WA, Vancouver, WA and Sacramento CA with plans for further geographic expansion.

At Blokable, we approach development differently, reimagining how to develop low cost, high quality housing by eliminating much of the inflated cost during the development process. Within typical AEC industry projects, there are many different stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and operators who have different and often competing agendas. At Blokable we're vertically integrated, which means we are always both the developer and the prefabricated building manufacturer, and in many cases also the long-term owner. This gives us control over cost and schedule and aligns stakeholder interests across the project. It also means we lead the project coordination and design from early planning through to site preparation, Blok delivery, project certificate of occupancy, and facilities management after the project is completed.
