SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

In collaboration with the Corporate HR team, the Talent Acquisition Director will provide strategic direction in the design, development, and implementation of talent acquisition programs that are required to achieve business goals.  Liaison between Corporate and the Division providing direction to business leaders, hiring managers and HR team members through all phases of the recruiting and talent management process. This position can sit in Saputo Dairy Foods offices in Dallas, TX OR in Saputo Cheese offices in Lincolnshire, IL.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures alignment with global recruitment strategy
  • Develop the talent acquisition strategy for the Saputo US divisions (Saputo Dairy Foods and Saputo Cheese) including the use of best practices and advanced technology.
  • Ensure that organization-wide talent acquisition initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Oversee the execution of the full life-cycle recruitment process (post, source, prescreen, interview, offer phase, etc.) for all positions (full-time, part-time, temporary personnel, hourly and salaried)
  • Develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies & techniques to build a pipeline of external and internal qualified candidates
  • Create and maintain an environment of equal employment opportunity, diversity and competitive advantage in support of the company’s diversity and inclusion strategic plan. Actively support EEO and AAP activities and identified AAP goals and objectives.
  • Assess the effectiveness of talent acquisition methods/media to determine most effective use of recruitment spend to maximize quality of candidate and cost containment
  • Collect, analyze and maintain data gathered to inform targeted talent acquisition
  • Develop pro-active recruiting activities to attract and cultivate pool of passive candidates to Saputo
  • Participate in organizational strategic planning to provide leadership guidance on talent acquisition program activities
  • Serve as a business partner with management to develop effective sourcing and recruitment strategies that result in client satisfaction. Develop effective relationships within the organization and the hiring community to have influence and impact the recruiting process and hiring
  • Contribute to the development, and execution of workforce retention, and succession planning
  • Create processes to develop applicant pools and talent pipelines using various sources such as; ads on job boards, social media platforms, state employment agencies, professional associations industry professionals from CPG companies and referrals
  • Develop a talent acquisition toolkit for HR team members to utilize to conduct marketing activities in their local market
  • Participate in the employer branding program at Saputo including input, training, and implementation in the United States
  • Partner with local HR team and recruiters in support of the candidate end-to-end talent management life cycle.
  • Actively support succession planning activities and initiatives.
  • Identify areas of process improvements.
  • Conduct recruitment for executive level roles when appropriate
  • Develop and track pertinent key recruiting KPIs including, but not limited to; time to fill, quality of hire, applicant pool, diversity hire and source of hire, cost per hire.

Requirements

  • Experience in all areas of sourcing such as internet, social media, networking, employee referrals, job postings as well as conducting open houses and job fairs
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in critical thinking to draw logical conclusions and make appropriate decisions, seeking guidance when necessary

 

 

  • Experience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide HR programs required
  • Must be able to work independently and keep on task to achieve department goals.
  • Values that align with the Saputo culture.
  • Ability to capture metrics, analyze data and identify areas of improvement
  • Ability to prioritize incoming work with current workload and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess excellent project management skills.
  • Must possess strong oral and written skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience with applicant tracking systems and affirmative action plan requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • 7-10 years HR experience in business environment, of which 3-5 years in talent acquisition/talent management activities.  Prefer experience in Consumer Product Goods manufacturing industry.
  • Recent experience recruiting in multiple discipline areas and levels, including hiring for hourly, salaried non-exempt, and exempt roles
  • Bachelor’s degree

 

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with project management tools i.e. Microsoft Project.  Certification a plus!

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position requires up to 30 percent travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight. Some of the travel is international. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires a medium level of activity and requires sitting, standing, walking, and bending. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items over 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
