Job Scope/Purpose:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's human resources policies, programs and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, revises, edits and proofreads company policies & procedures and related documents as needed; making sure they are in compliance with all state and federal laws
  • Orientating employees on company policies and procedures
  • Prepares government reports related to EEO compliance or other HR functions
  • Responsible for ensuring background checks on all employees are performed according to applicable laws
  • Assists Executive Management in acquisitions
  • Responsible for assuring that pay rates and evaluations are in line with the company's Pay Rate System
  • Works with managers and employees to resolve employee and labor relations issues and/or concerns-resolves conflicts, and provides coaching and counseling on human resource matters
  • Provides advice and counsel to managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices, policies and employment on an ongoing basis
  • Proactively identifies and addresses potential personnel issues
  • Responds to all inquiries within 24 hours
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate on personnel and company issues
  • Work closely with all safety personnel on safety issues and incidents
  • Helps administer the compliance of contractor policies and procedures
  • Performs recruitment activities, interviews and evaluates candidates for select positions
  • Attends Career Fairs
  • Review and approve/deny terminations
  • Collaborate with all levels of management on any employee counseling or performance improvement plans
  • Maintains accurate and detailed notes on all personnel issue from inception of issue
  • Represents the company during hearings, appeals or arbitrations
  • Maintains and adheres to established travel budget
  • Builds strong relationships with all employees of the company
  • Multitask and balance all aspects of job duties

Work Environment:

  • Tools, equipment, machinery used: Computers and basic system(Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Working conditions: Normal office environment (on-site and off-site locations), occasional outside work at jobsite and flexible hours
  • Physical effort required: Sitting, filing, typing and ability to tour industrial jobsites including stairs to work with employees, perform after action reviews, and other duties.
  • Travel 50% required: Geographical territories can range in size depending on the customer base. Overnight travel will be required for this position.
