Job Summary:

The primary function of this role is to manage the development of employees while complying with all federal, state and local laws pertaining to employment.  This position will be responsible for HR duties related to current employees and matters related to their continuing employment with the Company.  This position will also be responsible for the administration of Human Resource policies and procedures for the Company working along with an Executive Management Committee. 


This job requires a high energy level with a focus towards administration, compliance, analysis, and customer service.  It will require travel to the Branch locations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Administration of Company policies and procedures.
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
  • Ensure all employment practices comply with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Assist in any EEOC complaints along with the CFO.
  • Facilitate performance reviews and probationary performance plans.
  • Handle all transfer and promotion letters.
  • Work as a team with others in the Human Resource Department on charity functions and employee engagement activities.
  • Consult on employee benefits as needed.
  • Sit as a member of the Driver/Safety committee to ensure compliance.
  • Assist the Safety Manager with Worker’s Compensation when applicable.
  • Oversee employee exit process by facilitating terminations and conducting exit interviews
  • Handle investigation and resolution of employee issues, concerns and conflicts with senior management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

One shared direct report




  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field required.
  • 10-15 years knowledge of employment law in the field of human resources required
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations required
  • Knowledge of Worker’s Compensation required
  • Knowledge of performance management, employee relations and safety practices and the ability to apply this information in a manner that is compliant with relevant employment law required.
  • Human resource experience in the construction industry a plus
  • PHR certification preferred


Computer Skills:

  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) applications.
