The Employee Relations Manager (ERM) is a critical and integral part of the HR team.  In this client facing role, the ERM works closely with supervisors and managers to provide high-level HR guidance and leadership as it pertains to talent management and aligning with corporate objectives. Serving as a strategic advisor on personnel related issues, the ERM will have the opportunity to provide a personal touch in the evaluation of HR needs by building strong partnerships throughout the organization and ensuring the delivery of value-added service across the board.  

What you will do:


  • Cultivate strong relationships with department managers and supervisors to provide HR guidance and support around key initiatives such as corporate culture, compliance, talent management etc.
  • Develop, execute, and manage initiatives around: performance management, coaching, new hire on-boarding, and company policies and procedures
  • Act as an advisor in workforce planning and career planning
  • Identify, develop, execute, and manage programs around competency building through training programs across the organization
  • Focus on employee engagement to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Provide guidance regarding legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, consultants, and interns, reducing risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Ensure strategic direction to management related to internal and external recruitment, promotions and transfers
  • Provide HR guidance, interpretation, and direction to those in supervisory roles
  • Coach employees on employee relations matters including employee concerns, performance, performance improvement plans (PIP), training and development, advancement, etc.
  • Coach company leadership on employee relations matters including employee concerns, management of performance issues, recognition programs, and exit strategies
  • Direct and ensure oversight on-boarding programs, including post hire follow-up and integration within the organization
  • Measure employee morale and turnover, identify trends/issues and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Identify process improvement possibilities and participate in improvement efforts, sharing best practices and ideas across practices.
  • Analyze employment practices (e.g., turnover, on boarding, engagement, etc.) prepare trend reports; analyze surveys and make development recommendations.


What you should have done:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Organizational Psychology;
  • Preferred Master’s Degree in HR.
  • 5+ years of broad-based HR experience
  • Self-starter with a can-do, collaborative, team-oriented demeanor
  • Proficiency in standard office software, e.g. Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills; highly organized and able to work effectively on multiple projects/project types
  • Strong ability to frame issues and solutions quickly and concisely
  • Effective at building credibility quickly and maintaining relationships with clients, employees and HR partners.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external audiences
  • Solutions-oriented, taking initiative to formulate executable approaches to company challenges/opportunities and express recommendations cogently to management and colleagues
  • Demonstrated business acumen, ethical practice, and global and cultural awareness.
