TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 260 Days

REPORTS TO: Superintendent


JOB GOAL: To assist the Superintendent in the task of providing leadership in the assessment, recruitment and management of district personnel.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reports on the status of district’s programs and services at the request of the Superintendent.
2. Directs, supervises and evaluates departments and personnel assigned to Human Resources.
3. Oversees the application process for all District positions.
4. Processes applications of candidates and recommends to the Superintendent applicants for appointment and for presentation to the Board.
5. Directs the assignment and transfer of District personnel in accordance with Board policy and the needs of the District.
6. Directs the development of all personnel policies, job descriptions and participates in the development of Collective Bargaining agreements.
7. Updates and adheres to Board approved Affirmative Action Plan.
8. Confers with and directs principals regarding daily management and contractual issues.
9. Initiates and maintains effective liaisons with other school districts in order to keep abreast of new educational developments and ideas.
10. Works collaboratively with Associate Superintendents to provide timely and needed educational opportunities to certified and classified staff.
11. Prepares and submits state reports and claims as required.
12. Assists building principals with day-to-day management of district anti-bullying and harassment policy.
13. Attends meetings as assigned by the Superintendent.
14. Serves as district investigator in grievances, complaints, harassment, abuse and discrimination claims from staff. Delegates investigations to the Human Resources Manager when appropriate.
15. Serves as liaison between district office and school nursing staff.
16. Collaborates with the members of the Executive Cabinet.
17. Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and the Board.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: 
1. Juris Doctorate or related experience

2. B.A.

3. SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional) preferred

4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
