The College is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time, year-round position within the Dean of the Faculty's office, as Faculty Information Systems Analyst (FISA).

The Dean's office is responsible for hiring and supporting faculty members, and working with the academic departments and programs to shape and maintain the college's curricular offerings. Within this context, the FISA has primary responsibility for faculty employment data as well as oversight of the faculty recruiting budget and the Dean of Faculty webpages. This position curates all faculty biographical and Williams career data and prepares reports and historical summaries as needed by the dean, other senior staff members, and several high-level faculty committees.

Beyond data entry and management, the FISA advises as to software applications and functionality and proposes process improvements and system enhancements to ensure accurate and consistent data tracking and recording. The FISA communicates with academic department and program chairs and their administrative assistants regarding the staffing and evaluation schedule as it pertains to faculty hiring, teaching performance, sabbaticals, renewals, reappointments, promotions to tenure and full professor. The FISA also routinely interacts with such the offices of Human Resources, Information Technology, Institutional Research, the President, and the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Data precision and timeliness are critical, as is an advanced facility and creativity with database management and other office productivity software. Personal discretion and attentiveness to issues of confidentiality are fundamental.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent with a minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, relational database software is essential; experience with Oracle PeopleSoft is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, Google office productivity software, along with editing and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of Wordpress and or HTML, or a willingness to train, is also necessary
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must along with strong organizational skills;
  • Experience with software support and project management a plus
  • Should possess excellent Microsoft application skills, Google suite functions, and the ability to learn new databases and programs;
  • Must perform with a high degree of accuracy, professionalism and ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times due to the sensitive nature of materials.
