HR Assistant

Job Description

The HR Assistant carries out responsibilities in some or all of the functional areas: departmental development, employee relations, training, and development, benefits, on-boarding, compensation, organization development, executive administration, resume screening, phone, and job interview scheduling as well as assists with administrative coverage for the front desk.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The major responsibilities of the HR Assistant include, but are not limited to:

 

·         Working with a Microsoft Operating System, using the phone regularly, sending emails, and scheduling

·         Making copies, scans/faxes, reports, and files as required

·         Assists with recruiting and staffing logistics

·         Maintains performance management throughout all divisions of the company and improves tracking systems

·         Manages employee orientation, development, training logistics and recordkeeping

·         Assists with company-wide or division specific parties or team-building retreats

·         Manages incoming calls, emails and visitors with extreme detail, friendliness, and a motivation to keep the organization running smoothly and efficiently when the administrative assistant is out

·         Creates job advertisements, posts advertisements on the preferred job posting websites and monitors them in a timely matter

·         Assists the Operations Manager with new hire onboarding processes, including creating personnel file, initiating background check, setting up new hire in Payroll Onboarding, and carrying out New Hire Checklist

·         Compiles training manuals for new hires

·         Assists in ordering office supplies, break room, shipping supplies, and other office management duties as needed

·         Maintains employee files and the HR filing system

·         Responsible for employee safety, welfare, wellness and health reporting

·         Benefits administration and record-keeping

·         Responsible for company employee communication

·         Coordinates executive travel plans and other arrangements as needed

·         Sorts and distributes mail as needed

·         Assists with the timesheet approval process

·         Special projects and other executive administrative duties as required

·         Maintain deadlines and schedules

·         Resolves administrative problems by coordinating preparation of reports, analyzing data, and identifying solutions

 

REQUIREMENTS

·         General knowledge of various employment law and practices

·         Excellent Technical/Computer Skills

·         Verbal and Written Communication Proficiency

·         Professional presence

·         Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

·         Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

·         Team player with a great attitude

·         Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task efficiently

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS REQUIRED

College degree preferred and one year of human resources administration. Military experience preferred. Knowledge in all aspects of office equipment, etiquette, and social interactions are required. The ability to work in a team is a must. The ideal candidate will be willing to take any task head-on with confidence and the ability to provide a consistent work ethic.

 Job Type: Full-time – Monday-Friday - 8:00 am-5:00 pm at our Alpine Corporate Office
