Position Summary:

The Benefits Manager, which reports to the Director of Compensation and Benefits, will oversee all benefits functions for Acrisure’s employees in the following areas: medical, prescription, dental, vision, FSA medical, FSA dependent care and HSA; group term life, STD, LTD, voluntary benefits and retirement plans.   Also responsible for record maintenance; data integrity and data analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a customer focused benefits administration team.
  • Assist with distribution of workloads and cross training for adequate depth.
  • Subject matter expert in the full range of employee benefit programs including medical insurance, dental insurance, STD, LTD, voluntary life insurance, ACA, and retirement plans, including managing a self-service benefits system.
  • Project management of the benefit teams project and reporting of the status of projects to management.
  • Experience with self-service open enrollment and self-insured plan administration.
  • Desire and ability to serve as a mentor to the benefits administration team.
  • Research, analyze and recommend solutions for complex benefit coverage and enrollment situations.
  • Proactively manage Affordable Care Act reporting requirements and data tracking.
  • Research, analyze, recommend and/or implement approved new benefit programs.
  • Oversee the administration and integration of acquisitions into benefits and 401(k) plans.
  • Oversee the distribution of required plan documents such summary plan descriptions, summary annual reports and others as needed.
  • Provide statistical data and analysis for benefit plans to inform benefit design decisions.
  • Oversee policies and procedures for benefit enrollment and recommend improvements.
  • Implement new benefit programs; arrange and conduct employee information presentations and enrollments.
  • Manage Health and Wellness initiatives.
  • Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
  • Prepare government reports; assists Human Resources department in preparation of reports and forms.
  • Benefit liaison with HRIS.
  • Manage Health and Welfare 5500 reports.
  • Prepare internal employee communications regarding benefits and/or company policies.
  • Manage Benefits Administrator team
  • Report to and back-up the Director of Compensation & Benefits
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or the recognized equivalent in education and experience is required
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or CEBS desired
  • A minimum of 5 years of human resources experience including at least 3 years of benefit administration experience. Consideration may be given for candidates with JD or Master’s degree and at least 3 years’ experience. 
  • A minimum of 2 years of management experience, required

Technology Skills:

  • Highly proficient in Excel
  • Experience with a major payroll system required
