Cordant has an immediate opening for an experienced HR Business Partner and Benefits Manager to join our Denver, CO corporate team (headquarters in zip code 80239). In addition to providing HR business partnership to several members of Cordant management, the HRBP also has primary accountability for benefits administration and managing day-to-day employee relations issues across Cordant’s corporate operations. The chosen candidate will need to provide effective HR leadership across the administration of policy and procedure, on-boarding new employees, off-boarding, employee relations, labor relations, compliance to all company and HR initiatives, and performance management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Operates as a business partner to corporate leadership and management on HR requirements in the delivery of goals and initiatives.
  • Is a managerial member of the Human Resources team accountable for organizational goals and initiatives; contributes to developing departmental goals, objectives and systems within the department.
  • Provides direction to regional management and employee base on all Human Resources initiatives.
  • Manage the leave of absence program for the company.
  • Guides employees, supervisors and management through investigative processes of employee relations and makes recommendations when necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Oversees the maintenance of compliance with all employee files.
  • Recommends innovative approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of HR operations.
  • Facilitates communication among employees and management.
  • Develop training and staff development to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the division.


Benefits

  • Ensure effective communication of all benefits programs to employees.
  • Ensure all benefits related issues are handled promptly, efficiently, and in compliance with plan guidelines, federal and state regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Work with brokers, vendors and advisors to ensure timely and accurate 401(k) testing; preparation and dissemination of Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD’s); filing of Form 5500; and provide advice and administration regarding COBRA and HIPAA rules.
  • Advise management on benefit plan matters including, but not limited to compliance issues, administration, cost and fiscal variances, plan enhancements, and vendor selection.
  • Establish, implement, and oversee administration of qualified and non-qualified benefits plans.
  • Analyze and recommend cost effective changes, new programs and vendor selection to ensure that the company’s benefits are compatible with corporate objectives and supports the company’s ability to recruit and retain qualified quality employees.
  • Manage and direct the services provided by vendors to ensure quality interaction and service with the company and employees.
  • Monitor and ensure integrity of benefits data, processes, software and systems.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (HR Management preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in Human Resources, required
  • 5+ years of current full-cycle benefits administration experience, required
  • PHR and/or SPHR certification, preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Preferred
