This position is full time with Corban OneSource but will be located onsite at a client of ours in the West Lake / Beverly Hills area.  There is some travel required between locations near Westlake and Beverly Hills as well as once a week in San Diego (approximately 2 hours away).  There is no overnight travel.   This is NOT a contract position or a “one person show” in that there will be a remote team (A total of 5 people) of Corban OneSource professionals working with this person and an employee support line so employees can reach out to them as well.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a good understanding of employee relations, business functions, excellent communication skills, strategic thinking and organizational skills to enhance staff morale to enrich employee relations.  This role contributes to adding value to client’s overall business objectives, providing HR solutions, resolving personnel grievances, retaining a talented workforce, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This position will be responsible for managing various HR projects, in addition to assisting with the direct HR tasks and multifaceted employee relations issues, partnering and escalating more complex issues to Director of HR Services at Corban OneSource.  This position will be on-site at the client working directly with the business leaders (Including CEO) as a strategic partner providing strong leadership to the organization.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Assists in the development and facilitation of programs to promote positive employee relations. Provides guidance to management and team members on issues, complaints, or concerns, educating supervisors to routinely audit workplace environment. Keeps management informed regarding current issues, regulations, etc.

Proactively collaborates with managers and employees to resolve employee relations issues; investigates and guides to wise decisions, prepares/helps prepare corrective actions, facilitates involuntary terminations. Monitors employee relations throughout assigned area for development or in analyzing actual trends, issues and problems, and assists local management with addressing issues to resolution.

Demonstrated ability to work in and manage ambiguity – dealing with issues that do not always have a process or a system in place.

Partners with stakeholders to develop and deliver legal, diversity and employment related training.

Supports overall organizational efforts to ensure all practices and policies meet legal and regulatory standards.

Assists with retention strategies to support culture and reduce turnover.

Requirements

Strong Leadership and Employee Relations experience a must!

8+ years’ progressively responsible experience as an HR Business Partner in a dynamic environment, with specific experience in strategy development, organizational design, talent management and change management.  

Prior experience in working with multiple locations, engaging with heads of departments, demonstrating the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information on a regular basis.

Education equivalent to college degree in Human Resources, or the equivalent in related work experience demonstrating sound knowledge of human resources policies and procedures. PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.

8+ years’ or more experience required demonstrating a sound knowledge of state, local and federal labor laws and regulations. 

Excellent communication and listening skills. Ability to construct and deliver presentations, including PowerPoint in-person.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
