The Human Resource Coordinator provides assistance with and facilitates the human resource processes at all business locations. This role administers employee health and welfare plans. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The HR Coordinator makes that certain plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping and file maintenance.

Essential Functions

  1. Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  2. Reconciles benefits statements.
  3. Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  4. Prepares new-employee files.
  5. Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files. Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
  6. PTO tracking and all leave of absence administration (FMLA, PFL, etc)
  7. Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
  8. Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  9. Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
  10. Assists with processing of terminations.
  11. Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  12. Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in ATS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
  13. Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR.
  14. Processes mail.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or 3 year HR professional experience.
  2. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential.
  2. Experience with ATS software.
