Primary Responsibilities:

Extremely Hands On Position

Negotiation and Communications

Implement company culture, values, and policies

Participate in all facets of employee/labor relations

Ensure adherence to policies and provisions

Proactive. Personable. Organized. Respectful. Dedicated. 

Assist with negotiations. Trusted Advisor.

Effective use of mediation and conflict resolution techniques

Ensure compliance with EEO, FLSA, CFRA, FMLA, OSHA, ADA, CBA etc. 

Handle grievances, investigations, harassment complaints, etc. 

Professionalism, Objectivity, Timeliness. Consistency. Fairness.

Develop/Implement workforce strategies

Coordinate events focused on employee recognition and dedication

Advocate for employee retention and development

Oversee data entry and maintenance of employee records

Participate in the investigation and guidance for disciplinary actions

Effective communication skills

Proven skills for ferreting out issues (non-union and union)

Respect for all level person and employee

Travel

Qualifications Required

9+ years' Human Resources experience implementing California rules/regs

9+ years' CA legal knowledge from the lens of an HR professional

9+ years' experience with EEO, FLSA, CFRA, FMLA, OSHA, ADA, CBA etc. 

9+ years' experience with payroll requirements

Strong preference to background where you managed and advised HR for a company with multiple locations and with large labor pools

Experience with HR role in conflict resolution, negotiation, mediation, litigation, complaints, grievances, etc.  

Ability to build rapport with all employees

Strong leadership qualities

Autonomous. Professional Judgment. Strategic. Solution-Oriented. Proactive.

Thorough investigation skills

Effective communicate skills

Respect for all level employee 

Proven skills for ferreting out issues (union and non-union).

Travel up to 50%.

Background where you had autonomy, interactions with all level employee,  responsibility,

Deep knowledge of HR nuts and bolts.

Educational Background: Bachelor degree minimum. An advanced degree in law or similar, demonstrating deeper relevant legal knowledge, viewed favorably.
