By providing medical services, education, training and advocacy, PPM seeks to help individuals make informed decisions about their reproductive health, family planning options, and sexuality.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Recruitment: 
a. Full cycle recruitment. Place ads, source candidates, and review and screen resumes. Interview candidates for select positions.  Ensure job descriptions are available and up to date.  
2. Employee Administration
a. Understand the legalities of business law in relation to human resources and how to apply them. 
b. Ensure employment laws are posted appropriately at all centers.  
c. Prepare staff correspondences; including but not limited to letters of hire, termination, salary/status/benefits changes, and annual benefits enrollment. 
d. Responsible for contracts with universities and schools for student interns.
e. Maintain all personnel files, coordinating receipt of needed documents from the various departments from pre-hire to employment termination for all employees, volunteers, students, and interns.  
f. Maintain HRIS systems.
g. Generate routine HR reports and maintain up-to-date HR metrics. 
h. Conduct HR orientations for new staff and students.  Coordinate PPM training resources to ensure new staff and volunteers are welcomed into the organization, understand the resources available to them, and know personnel policies, procedures and available benefits. 
i. Provide information to employees and managers on hiring, FMLA, promotions, salary review, disciplinary actions, terminations, etc. consistent with law and PPM policies.
j. Handle claims for workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance, short term disability, etc. 
k. Audit insurance bills to assure that eligible employees are properly enrolled and that bills are accurate and up to date.  Monitor FSA vendor and COBRA vendors to ensure that claims are substantiated.
l. Ensure accurate and current licensure and credentialing documentation is on file. 
m. Maintain records of staff training and insure they are up to date.
3. Employee/Volunteer Retention and Development
a. Performs exit interviews and employee surveys. Assist with employee surveys, exit interviews and other tools to gather information for organizational improvement.  
b. Oversee administration of benefits.  Answers questions and facilitates resolution to benefit questions.
4. IT Duties
a. Work in conjunction with IT resource to ensure employee logins, badges, emails, and usernames are created and maintained.
5. Organizational Duties
a. Must be committed to the purpose of Planned Parenthood of Maryland.
b. Performs other duties as requested or needed.
6. Administrative support duties for the department including reconciling the credit card statement, parking bills, supply ordering, ect.

Required Education and experience is:
1. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, human resources, or related field from an accredited college or university preferred; and
2. Knowledge of Human Resources laws and practices preferably in a multi-site organization.  Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Experience in a healthcare or social services setting, or in an organization utilizing volunteers preferred. 
4. PHR certification preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
Required skills and competencies are:
1. Clear and concise written communication skills.
2. Skill in problem solving, non-judgmental listening and decision making with integrity as it relates to difficult personnel related decisions. 
3. Effective verbal communication skills including ability to deal directly with a wide range of personality types, and communicate policy interpretations/decisions effectively to diverse audiences.
4. Competence with Microsoft Excel including Filters, Sorting, basic functions and Protection.
5. Competence with Microsoft Word including Headers/Footers, Bullets/Numbers/Lists, altering margins, Track Changes, formatting complex documents, and inserting symbols, pictures, tables and graphs. 
6. Competence with Microsoft PowerPoint including Master Slide and background setup and inserting tables and graphs.
7. Must have excellent customer services skills and be committed to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction.
8. Ability to adhere to schedules and deadlines.
Preferred experience/skills include:
1. Experience in health care staff recruitment and volunteer recruitment.
