JOB PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for tactical and administrative aspects of Human Resources functions.  Focus is placed on employee relations, organizational development, process improvement and providing customer service while supporting the main function of the Human Resource Manager in Brighton, MI. 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Payroll Administration

•Gather and organize payroll data;
•Enter payroll information into the ADP system;
•Verify accuracy of payroll information and clarify anomalies with appropriate manager or employee;
•Submit payrolls on a semimonthly basis for US and Canada;
•Generate reports for semimonthly, monthly and quarterly submissions;
•Complete monthly journals.

Recruitment

•Ensure appropriate paperwork is completed and approved by management in order to post and recruit for the position;
•Post positions on appropriate websites depending on position location and send out to external recruitment agencies;
•Respond to employment inquiries and forward appropriate application paperwork;
•Document employment positions and inquiries per OFCCP regulations and guidelines;
•Coordinate and conduct interviews with candidates;
•Finalize the disposition of all candidates and on-boarding of new employees including processing all required paperwork.


Benefits Administration

•Administer Health, Life, Short and Long Term Disability, Accident and Worker’s Compensation Insurance;
•Verify monthly benefit invoices for accuracy and submit for approval;
•Answer benefits related questions for employees and/or direct them to the information; 
•Coordinate employee informational meetings;
•Assist and support the benefit process during open enrollment.


ANCILLARY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Acts as liaison between employees and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations;
•Assist with employee on boarding including: new hire orientation meeting, benefits presentation, signed policy verification and Form I9 verification including data input into E-Verify;
•Document employment personnel changes including new hires, terminations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans;
•Under the direction of the HR Manager , ensure that employment actions meet federal and state legislation requirements;
•Keep employee files in order and compliant with company processes;
•Manage administration of vacation and sick time for employees in ADP Workforce Now. Assist employees with any related inquiries;
•Partner with HR Manager to ensure monthly fire extinguisher and emergency light inspections are performed;
•Assist with annual compliance reporting (EEOC, VETS, AAP);
•File and assist with organization of confidential HR files;

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience;
•3-5 years of well-rounded HR coordinator/assistant experience required;

Desirable
•Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now Payroll and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) software;
•PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
