Reporting to the Senior Recruiter in Talent Acquisition, the HR Generalist for Recruiting provides support, resources, and expertise to the campus community related to recruitment and selection, hiring processes, and employee position changes. This position will also serve as a resource to applicants and campus constituents involved in the recruiting process, answering inquiries about employment procedures, regulations, and policies. The position requires the ability to create, maintain, and clearly communicate efficient processes, including best use of MyTrack (talent management system) and HRIS.

As a member of the Talent Acquisition team, the HR Generalist for Recruiting promotes best practices in interactions with all constituents that reflect the values of the University and are aligned with institutional commitment to maintaining an environment of inclusive excellence for all members of our community.

This position assists and acts in a confidential capacity; the ability to handle confidential material appropriately and maintain an institutional perspective is critical.


Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and two years professional human resources experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience equaling four years.

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships and work effectively with colleagues, faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent problem solving and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of work product, confidentiality and integrity.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and follow processes, demonstrated good judgement on when and how to deviate from processes and/or identify and escalate issues.
• Experience using productivity software such as Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with recruitment functions, such as recruitment outreach, position description/vacancy announcement development, candidate evaluation/selection, classification, FLSA, and candidate evaluation/selection.
• Experience using HRIS or a Talent Management System.
• Current PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
• Experience with applying collective bargaining agreements to recruitment and compensation matters.
• Experience in higher education.
