Human Resources Manager

ACCEPT Education Collaborative – Natick, MA
ACCEPT Education Collaborative is a regional non-profit educational organization located in Natick, MA.  ACCEPT provides a wide range of programs and services including special education for students with moderate to severe needs, specialized transportation, home-based services, behavioral and educational consultation, and professional development.

We are looking for a part/ full-time Human Resource Manager to work up to 30 hours per week to manage and guide the HR Services, policies, benefits and programs within the company.  The person will coordinate and implement people-related services, policies, and programs, as well as assist and advise company managers about Human Resource issues.  The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the field of human resources, possess excellent decision-making, strategic thinking, leadership, interpersonal, and ethical conduct skills.  ACCEPT currently has full-time, school-year, and part-time employees totaling 270.   

Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer human resources programs, procedures and guidelines.
  • Develop HR department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Establish and lead recruitment and staffing procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce.  
  • Work with hiring managers to create and revise job descriptions.
  • Conduct new employee orientations.
  • Review, guide and approve management recommendations for terminations; ensure documentation is maintained, and conduct exit interviews.
  • Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
  • Manage ACCEPT’s benefits plans; including Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, and 403(b) plans.
  • Lead company compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employment Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and so forth.  Maintain minimal company exposure to lawsuits.
  • Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.  Minimize risk.
  • Maintain and revise the ACCEPT Employee Handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge and keep management informed of any changes in employment law, regulatory compliance, employee-related services, and ethical standards that impact the company.
  • Coach and train managers in their communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them.
  • Lead implementation of the performance management system that includes performance development plans (PDPs) and employee development plans.
  • Maintain department records and reports

 

Requirements

Requirements

  • 2 – 4 years of experience in a human resources position; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or relevant field preferred.
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Background in a School environment preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, positive and proactive attitude, strong communicator.
  • Works well in a team.
