SUMMARY

This position has primary responsibility for all human resources functions at a plant location. The HR Director fulfills the responsibilities of this role when vacant.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities are representative and may be expanded.

  • Counsels managers on employee relations issues and provides a variety of human resources solutions to meet business initiatives.
  • Conducts strategic planning sessions and align plant HR function to business goals.
  • Maintains positive employee relations through communications, round tables, engagement programs, open door policy and consistency.  
  • Oversees the recruitment and selection of talented individuals to assist the organization in meeting business initiatives.
  • Ensures plant is operating in compliance with state and federal law.  
  • Consults, recommends, and identifies organizational development and learning needs of the organization at all levels. Conducts or coordinates training on selected topics and initiatives.
  • Coaches, leads and mentors human resources personnel at a plant location.
  • Facilitates organizational change
  • Represents the company in the community for the purpose of networking, identifying human resources best practices and improving the business' standing in the community.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This person directly manages two HR team members at the plant location.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution is required
  • Four to seven (4-7) years of HR management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, as a generalist in all major areas of HR
  • Management coaching experience preferred
  • Project management experience a plus
  • PHR/SPHR Certification Preferred

     

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products and Time and Attendance systems.
