HR Manager – People Operations

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

This HR Manager is relied on for performing senior level Human Resources duties and works closely with OTR leaders to support their teams. You are here to help lead a team that champions change, collaborate with Optimians of all levels, help remove roadblocks, and propel the business forward.

You are an expert in the different areas of HR, help oversee the ticketing system which brings in all employee requests, and assist with development of the HR team. You will be responsible for the various functions within the HR Operations Team which includes: employee relations, benefits & compensation, performance management, leave of absences, worker’s comp, onboarding, employee engagement & development, etc. You will be the front-line HR employee for management on policy, people and compliance items and assist with management of the HR Operations Team.

 

Below is a summary of some of the duties this individual will perform:

  • High level management and direction to ensure a compliant yet progressive HR Operations team.
  • Is highly proficient in the various areas of HR and can perform the following duties:
    • Onboarding, new hire entry
    • Benefits & 401k administration
    • Compliance & confidentiality
    • Personnel files & partnership with Legal
    • Leave of absences & workers compensation
    • Compensation & rewards
    • Employee engagement & morale
  • Ensures compliance with corporate/district level policies and federal/state governmental agencies. Attends seminars and conferences as needed to stay ahead of new policies and regulations.
  • Plans, directs, and administers various HR projects
  • Leads resolution of employee relations' issues and conducts investigations as necessary
  • Assists the Head of HR in supporting corporate-wide Human Resources objectives and initiatives
  • Supervision of team members includes:
    • Training, direction, growth, performance management, touch base meetings, etc.
    • Management of ticketing system to address urgent/non urgent items on a daily basis
  • Escalated contact for managers on ticketing status and any internal procedures
  • Distribution and updating of management compliance spreadsheet which holds the latest “hot topics” items and any new policy changes
  • Monthly reporting of key HR Metrics
  • Keeps track of any CA or AZ specific laws that are changing to plan for those changes that may cause risk to Optima
  • Follow up on any policy/procedure changes after the weekly hr operations team meetings
  • Assists with other supervisory responsibilities and duties as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and standard office supplies. While working in the office, the setting is a standard office environment with low to moderate noise levels and temperature controlled.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Employee is required to sit at desk for majority of the work day with occasional standing and walking within office environment. The employee is required to use hands and fingers for writing and typing, handle or feel office tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Employee may occasionally crouch or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision (may be corrected), peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus on task at hand.
