Human Resources Representative (part-time) with an online application deadline of 08/05/2018 or until 75 applicants have successfully completed the application process.

STARTING SALARY: $29.11 - $31.75 per hour normally working at least 4 days in a M-F schedule averaging 19 hours per week not to exceed 1,000 hours in a 12-month period.  Salary dependent on qualifications.  The salary range for this position grade is $29.11 - $42.21.

Ideal candidate will have a high degree of computer proficiency, strong analytical skills, and possess prior experience working with HCM or HRIS systems including creating inquiries and reporting functions. This position will be one of two Human Resources Representatives and will focus on working with our Labor and Employee Relations Manager.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position assists in the areas of the Schaumburg Institute of Professional Development (SIPD) training program, tuition reimbursement administration, and organizational climate surveys, as assigned. Exercises discretion and judgment on Human Resources administrative procedures, answers inquiries as appropriate. May assist in the areas of talent acquisition, onboarding, volunteer, contractor, and commission member processing.

JOB DUTIES:

Coordinates and facilitates the Schaumburg Institute of Professional Development (SIPD) Training program. Provides administrative support and data analysis to the management negotiation team. Coordinates employee recognition and awards programs. Utilizes the human capital management system and serves as subject matter experts for applicable responsibilities.  Assists with surveying comparable communities to collect, compile, and analyze data for union and non-union positions.  Provide recommendations to management.  Responsible for confidential information and document management. Facilitates the entire talent acquisition process for assigned positions with the hiring managers.  Facilitates new hire on-boarding and New Employee Orientation. Responsible for the coordination of the volunteer/non-paid positions and commissions. Processes a variety of employee related requests.  Provides administrative office support as needed both on the phone and in person. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or equivalency of college hours working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.  A minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources or related field. Professional certification is highly desired. Proficiency with current computer software systems, including email, calendar programs, job specific software, and customer service systems preferred or within the first six months of employment.

Ability to give presentations to groups for informational and instructional purposes. Ability to make objective decisions using sound judgment for issue resolution. Effective skills in oral, written, and interpersonal communications.  Ability to make decisions in accordance with established regulations, procedures or policy. Knowledge of principles, procedures and methods used in human resources administration. Interpret and administer federal, state and local laws relating to human resources issues.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position works in a typical office setting. Prolonged periods of concentration, proofreading, and extensive computer work.

SELECTION PROCESS:
