SUMMARY:

 

The HR Supervisor is the top human resources position within a district office reporting directly to the HR Manager in the corporate office. The HR Supervisor oversees and manages the HR function at the district level and is responsible for workforce planning, full-lifecycle recruiting and onboarding of rig and field support positions, handling employee relations issues, and providing HR Business Partner support to other functional groups. Assist with the planning, coordination and implementation of Human Resource programs and activities.

 

BASIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serve as HR business partner to operations and other functional management.

  2. Develop methods to improve applicant quality and quantity.

  3. Prepare workforce planning forecast to project employment needs.

  4. Recruits, interviews and hires various rig based disciplines as required maintaining fully staffed rigs.

  5. Processes new hires and rehires in accordance to NDUSA policies. Conducts new hire orientation and assures all required documentation is completed by applicants. Assures all testing (drug screens, physicals, fit testing, background checks, etc.) is completed as required prior to employment.

  6. Monitors and approves status changes through Portal for rig personnel who are transferred, promoted, demoted, hired, rehired and terminated. Also submits personal information changes through the Portal.

  7. Responsible for the maintenance of all personnel files in the assigned district.

  8. Maintains compliance with applicable state and federal regulatory agencies concerning employment. Maintains compliance with NDUSA polices and procedures as they relate to employment and employee relations.

  9. Perform audits as required for compliance with NDUSA policies and all regulatory requirements.

  10. Coordinates with District Manager and Drilling Superintendents to ensure training requirements are met. Updates and maintains Training Database for assigned district. Reports to District Manager on training compliance and deficiencies; coordinates scheduling for approved training program between vendor, district and/or company assigned trainer.

  11. Participates and assists in district meetings, i.e. Rig Manager, Town Hall, in support of operations management.

  12. Coach and counsel employees to resolve employee relations and work issues.

  13. Responds to all inquires concerning unemployment benefits and verification of employment.

  14. Performs necessary investigations into employee relations issues as necessary, and provides reports of findings and makes recommendations for corrective action to Manager of HR. Fully documents result of investigations.

  15. Answers all human resources related issues from the field and operations management.

  16. Coordinate contractor review program to include: monitoring contractors to ensure compliance with applicable company policy, procedure, or guidelines; report deficiencies to appropriate department manager; and coordinate audits with Districts as assigned.

  17. Performs other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and skilled in a windows based HRIS.

    • Must be extremely organized and have the ability to establish and adhere to priorities

    • Work independently, multi-task, and proceed with objectives/projects with little or no supervision

    • Must be able to coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues.  

    • Self-starter with strong desire to accomplish assignments in an accurate and timely manner

    • Must be able to travel with short notice as assigned

    • Must possess the ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality

    • Must possess good writing skills and be able to utilize basic analytical skills

    • Must have desire to assist the company in change management.


EDUCATIONAL AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE:


  • High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business, or related is preferred.
  • Minimum of (3) years in an HR role required.
  • PHR/SPHR Certification is preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common reports.
  • Experience in a blue-collar industrial environment or drilling is a plus.
