Job Summary:

The HRIS Business Systems Analyst plays a key role in organizing and participating in development and production support of cloud-based applications used for people data management, payroll and timekeeping. Reporting to the Manager of HRIS, this role collaborates with HR, Finance and IT stakeholders, providing subject matter expertise, to plan, organize, and support current requirements & long-term objectives. Partnering with stakeholders, the HRIS Business Systems Analyst plays a significant role in helping to plan & manage projects related to new functionality, process improvement & system update release management.

Organizing and implementing system support and optimization projects, the primary focus is support of HR and Payroll systems and related projects, with a broader focus on supporting the implementation of improved processes, best practices and operational measures for improved application support across HR and Payroll applications.

Job Duties:

  • Provides general support for HR & Payroll systems (Workday, Kronos, SharePoint).
  • Facilitates discussion with stakeholders to understand the business and information needs of HR, Payroll and management.
  • Analyzes and makes recommendations regarding system and process enhancements to streamline HR and Payroll operations system supported processes.
  • Acts as a liaison between key business areas to work with and educate users on applications, technology in support of business processes and enhancements.
  • Focuses on optimizing efficiency, ensuring data integrity, and safeguarding system security/data privacy with a commitment to utilizing best practices.
  • Coordinates and organizes project objectives and support (internal and external) resources.
  • Performs risk analysis with technical and business stakeholders; working with stakeholders to aggressively manage risks to reduce impact on HR/Payroll customers and related projects timelines/budgets.
  • Provides full service end user support for systems users in HR and Payroll by troubleshooting problems, analyzing root cause, answering questions, creating and/or modifying reports, and planning/creating documentation as needed.
  • Follows department policies and procedures as required for project management and support/solution delivery.
  • Actively engages in not only the design/development of, but (hands on) implementation of system configuration solutions, related to functional area.
  • Organizes and leads external support resources engaged in configuration/development of system configuration solutions, related to functional area.
  • Responsible for planning, supporting and participating in testing activities.
  • Protects and supports system security configuration and administration. Creating and managing security change management protocols, preparing and executing system security audits as required.
  • Responsible for supporting business reporting and integration needs from/to supported systems and 3rd party providers, including the development of metrics and dashboards for management and HR business partners.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and security of corporate Human Resource and Payroll data.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by: review of professional publications; staying current on industry trends/research; participating in educational workshops/ training courses; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional/ technical user and management groups; establishing/maintaining personal networks and user group memberships.

 

Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid knowledge of HR business processes in key areas including human resources core administration, payroll, talent acquisition and management, compensation, learning and benefits.
  • Specific experience in implementation and post go live support of Kronos Workforce Central application.
  • 2+ years processing payroll and/or supporting payroll processing system/team.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with Kronos Workforce Central especially in configuration of Kronos Timekeeping configuration, interfaces, US and user experience.
  • 2+ years supporting HR/Payroll reporting needs using Kronos Workforce Central tools available.
  • 2+ years working on or managing enterprise/large scale projects.
  • 5+ years’ experience with MS Office applications, project management and process mapping tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, design, configure and support HR and Payroll process and technology needs with an understanding of the concepts and issues unique to HR/Payroll data and processes.
  • Knowledge of and ability to develop and troubleshoot integrations between multiple HR Systems (ie. Workday, Kronos, SAP and 3rd party providers).
  • Knowledge of HCM reporting, analytics and use of related tools.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal skills. Ability to effectively communicate ideas and concepts to peers and the user community.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with experience presenting to mid-level and senior management.
  • Experience developing and implementing business and system process improvements and setting standards.
  • Experience working with business users in understanding and resolving process and system issues.
  • Ability to effectively function both individually and in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and manage changing priorities.
  • Demonstrates core leadership qualities (positive attitude, honesty, integrity, decision making, calculated risk taking, commitment to business goals).
  • Ability to adjust from “leading” to “doing” (and vice versa), comfortable supporting needs and resources as they evolve and grow/shrink.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills breaking down complex problems into essential elements, using data and information to communicate business needs/value, drive design decisions, or isolate execution issues.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of data, reporting results and other company sensitive issues.
  • 10 years of minimum number of years of experience required in lieu of degree (if applicable).
  • Other job requirements (e.g. certifications/licenses, CPG experience, work overtime/weekends, etc.)
  • Kronos certification/training credits are a plus.
  • Workday certifications/training credits are a plus.
  • Expertise in SAAS-based HCM, preferably Workday.
  • Experience with Kronos Workforce Dimensions.
  • Experience with requirements gathering/process mapping.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, communication and presentation skills are necessary, as are strong attention to detail and quality while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively under and manage to strict production, time and performance deadlines at times. 
  • No Supervisory responsibilities or direct reports
 Physical Demands:
  • Position requires prolonged sitting at computer.
  • Visual concentration for reading and writing reports and memos. 
  • Occasional extended work hours as required for task or project completion.
  • 24/7 on-call support of production applications as needed. 
Work Environment:
  • Standard office environment with low levels of noise, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional trips for training, to plant environment, and remote locations.
