General Overview: The Human Resource and Training Specialist is responsible for achieving recruiting, training, HR, and Organizational Development objectives. This individual performs all responsibilities on a professional level and works closely with management to support the overall mission of the organization. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: recruitment/employment, onboarding and training, and organizational development.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Establishing recruiting requirements by meeting with managers to discuss needs; evaluating applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers
  • Building applicant sources badvertising open positions on the company Career Center (ADP),Indeed,and thcompany website and developing/executingstrategicapplicantsourcingtechniquesandrecruitingsolutions
  • Support the Human Resource Manager with recruitment agency relationships and related responsibilities
  • Arranging interviewbcoordinating schedules anfollowing uwith applicantand hiring managers
  • Initiate the onboardinprocess breaching out to applicantwith offers and conducting pre-employment processes
  • Schedule, coordinate and manage monthly onboarding agenda with presenters and new hires
  • Builand maintain strong relationshipwitcandidates and hiring managers and ensurhigh level of customer service
  • Utilize HRIS (ADP) and databases appropriately to include keying required data and producing monthly reports
  • Creating and maintaininthe company’s presence on local college campuses bregistering and attending career fairs and building relationships witcollegprofessors,department heads, and co-op program coordinators
  • Managco-op program by recruiting from career fairs, and online college/university websites
  • Tracks and reports on recruiting metrics and other HR metrics as required
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law


  • Support and assist the training committee, managers and employees at all levels to identify and assess training and development needs
  • Ensure employees receive required training
  • Assist with managing co-op and mentor programs
  • Research and implement various learning methods company wide (e.g., coaching, job shadowing, online training)
  • Manage the on-line LMS (Go-1) company wide; reviewing courses and making recommendations to improve employee development and growth
  • Monitor training costs and prepare budget reports to justify expenditures
  • Coordinate training activities, select and assign instructors
  • Schedule training based on availability of classrooms, equipment, or instructors
  • Coordinate the onboarding agenda and traininprograms by identifying and developintraining programs and courses


  • SupporHuman Resources department in employee relations endeavors,including, but not limited to promotinhealth, wellness,and safety,improvinemployee morale,and maintaining an employee-friendlatmosphere
  • Assist with managing the budget, including reconciliation
  • Keep employee files up to date
  • Assiswith other HumaResources taskaneeded or when scheduling conflicts arise,including assisting with employee needs and questions,employee onboarding, and training
  • Assist in coordinating,promoting,and facilitating company events,includincompany picnic,Christmas party,employee recognition events,potlucks,etc.
  • Other duties as required and assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of Human Resource experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with ADP and ADP recruitment module, a plus
  • Computer proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and Access
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems


Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of remaining in a stationary sitting position, occasionally moving about the office; prolonged standing; occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor; bending/reaching; climbing; balancing; bending; stooping; kneeling; crouching; crawling; handling; feeling; talking; hearing; depth perception; visual accommodation; color vision; field of vision; near acuity; far acuity; and strength. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
