Golding Farms Foods, Inc. is a specialty sauce and condiment manufacturer with facilities in Winston Salem, NC and St. Louis, MO.  Golding Farms produces products for an array of national and international customers under three (3) essential business platforms: private label, branded and co-packing.  The company is aggressively growing its product portfolio, its customer base and its leadership team. The Opportunity.   We are recruiting a Human Resources Director to drive people and process transformation at our manufacturing facilities in Winston-Salem, NC and St. Louis, MO. In this position, you will report directly to a member of the senior leadership team and be a key member of the company’s Operational Team. You will be responsible for the effective and successful people and process management, discipline and communications for 300+ non-exempt and exempt employees at both of the Company’s facilities.  The candidate will office out of either Winston Salem or St. Louis, whichever he/she prefers.

The ideal candidate will combine a strategic approach to all aspects of human resources with a desire to develop, foster and cheer-lead a positive, engaging and positive work environment. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to recruiting, temporary staffing, employee engagement, employee engagement, training, performance management, compensation bench-marking/structuring, benefits administration, reporting and compliance.

There is a lot of autonomy in this position and room to develop your own programs!

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide support in all functional areas of human resources including but not limited to recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee and/or labor relations, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, compliance issues,  organizational development, training and special projects.
  • Direct and counsel front line leadership team on employee relations issues, including attendance management, conflict management and the progressive discipline process.
  • Ensure that managers and employees are provided with guidance and training on employee relations issues. 
  • Develop and direct plans and programs to guide and train employees on employee relations issues. 
  • Coordinate employee training sessions and guidance meetings.
  • Manage Human Resource practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies and be able to identify issues that require consultation with counsel.
  • Develop, recommend, and administer human resources policies and procedures to support business unit and company philosophy, culture and strategic goals. 
  • Advise and consult with all levels of management and employees regarding interpretation and application of policies, programs and issues.
  • Partner with Plant Managers and entire plant leadership team to ensure a complete understanding of human capital needs and objectives, leading through effective communication and discipline.
  • Manage the recruitment and hiring practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies. 
  • Forecast and analyze workforce planning data. 
  • Manage multiple requisitions concurrently and take accountability for recruitment delivery targets.
  • Develop and oversee the administration of the performance management, employee review and compensation policy programs and procedures. 
  • Identify and respond to current compensation trends in the marketplace and provide bench-marking for compensation throughout the organization.
  • Assist management in providing the vision, leadership and strategy for establishing and improving company culture. 
  • Develop and implement process and tools that foster higher productivity and improved retention of workforce
  • Manage the investigation of employee complaints and disputes. 
  • Recommend and implement disciplinary action. Work with legal counsel as appropriate.
  • Act as an ambassador/diplomat with employees to build strong two-way communication and ensure employees can have an opportunity to bring ideas and concerns to the attention of leadership.
  • Prepare reports in conformance with legal requirements or organizational policies and needs.
  • Manage at least one (1) HR administrator and/or HR Generalist at each location.
  • Carry out all responsibilities with high level of integrity by careful management of confidential and sensitive information, sharing information on an “as needed” basis only.



  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in human resources leading people to accomplish a mission with purpose, teamwork, and pride
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated integrity, flexibility, discipline, sound judgment, and strong critical thinking skills
  • Sound working knowledge of applicable state and federal labor and employment law
  • Strong organization and attention-to-detail skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in a deadline driven environment
  • Experience managing direct reports (preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of full-cycle recruitment process, with experience recruiting hourly, contingent and seasonal employees
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or business-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual - English, Spanish (preferred)
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred.
