Structured Finance Industry Group, Inc. (“SFIG”) is a member-based, trade industry advocacy group focused on improving and strengthening the broader structured finance and securitization market. SFIG provides an inclusive network for securitization professionals to collaborate and, as industry leaders, drive necessary changes, be an advocate for the securitization community, share best practices and innovative ideas, and educate industry members through conferences and other programs. Members of SFIG represent all sectors of the securitization market including issuers, investors, financial intermediaries, law firms, accounting firms, technology firms, rating agencies, servicers, and trustees. Formed in March 2013, our institutional membership totals approximately 370 members, represented by a Board of Directors totaling 42 members selected from all membership constituencies. Additional leadership is provided by an executive committee, including Officers of the Board of Directors, select Board members and the Executive Director.

While the Membership of SFIG is geographically diverse, with a concentration in New York, the operational headquarters are based in Washington, DC – close to the majority of SFIG’s regulatory and legislative audiences.

 To facilitate broad inclusion of its Membership, SFIG encourages its Members to assume an active role in SFIG advocacy efforts by joining member committees and task forces, which are designed to cover a wide variety of topics relevant to the securitization industry. Members drive the agenda of theorganization.


SFIG is seeking an experienced HR Generalist who will assist in providing a wide range of HR support and advice. The successful candidate will play a key role in the organization by managing the recruitment, screening, interviewing and placement of candidates, as well as the onboarding, off boarding, training, and development of staff. In addition to providing a wide range of HR support and advice, the candidate will also offer guidance on performance management and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between staff and senior management.



Responsibilities would include:

  • Management of recruitment process: job postings, interview schedules, candidate feedback, offer letters, background checks, and other onboarding activities
  • Maintenance of current job descriptions, organizational charts, and employee directories
  • Administration of performance management, including mid-year and year-end reviews, promotion planning, and 360 feedback
  • Management of compensation process with SFIG’s Compensation Committee
  • Management of off-boarding and exit interviews
  • Partnership with CAO and ED to establish, communicate and enforce general office policies with consistency and fairness
  • Serve as SFIG’s primary liaison with its PEO provider for payroll and benefits administration
  • Maintenance of employee handbook


General Requirements:

  • 7+ years in Human Resources, with direct experience in sub-50 employee companies comprised of both office-based and remote employees; non-profits a plus.
  • Must have experience working directly with executive leadership teams
  • Preference given to applicants with a history of working in dynamically changing environments and organizational turnarounds
  • Prior training in confidentiality, mediation, or negotiation are strong desires
  • Applicant must be able to work in the Washington, DC, office at least 3 days/week, with a minimum of 20 hours


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline
