Seeking an energetic Human Resource leader to become apart of our corporate team. Must have a strong combination of people and organizational skills. Ideally we want someone with a SPHR or PHR that has at least two years of HR Generalist experience. Someone that’s been apart of an HR team and is ready for their next leadership role. 

This position will oversee innovative recruiting strategies, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration and training. They will partner with the key leaders in each of our restaurants and will be instrumental in monitoring workplace compliance and employee engagement. This position pays between $60-68K, depending on experience, and includes a generous benefits package. Relocation of up to $2,000 for the right candidate.

The Chiles Restaurant Group is the largest private restaurant group in the Sarasota Manatee county that is 40 years old and is based in Anna Maria Island. Position Summary:

Oversees the Human Resource, Benefits Administration and Payroll functions for all the Chiles Restaurant Group team members. Ensures all employment compliance requirements are consistently met for recruitment, hiring, wage and hour, and benefit administration according to federal, state and local employment laws. Strikes an effective balance between employee relations/morale enhancement efforts and leading the charge with management regarding consistent adherence to established rules and policies. Follows established performance, efficiency and cost control measures to help maintain a profitable overall operation. 

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for oversight and annual updating of the employee handbook, job descriptions and various HR/employment related policies, SOPs and legal requirements.  
  • Acts as liaison between the company and outside legal and professional resources to ensure employment policies follow current laws and regulations. Ensures all workplace legal information is  properly posted and updated as needed. 
  • Files EEO-1 annually and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Oversees the overall compensation program for the company to include; wage scales, conducting salary surveys, benefit surveys and the tracking of staffing levels for budgeting purposes. 
  • Delivers compensation and benefit comparison reports to executive leadership monthly makes recommendations as needed. 
  • Prepares organizational charts, staffing guides and departmental directories. 
  • Maintains accurate and confidential personnel records on all team members. 
  • Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures.
  • Oversees benefit administration to include; benefit offerings, vendor relations, maintaining benefit records, claims resolutions, approving invoices for payment and annual re-evaluation of benefits for cost-effectiveness and to position the company competitively with other employers. 
  • Coordinates all recruiting efforts to include employment branding, social media presence/networking and writing/placing ads to help fill open positions quickly with quality candidates. 
  • Oversees that proper background checks, E-Verify checks and references are conducted on all candidates prior to job offer. 
  • Conducts interviews and partners with the managers concerning their hiring needs. Effectively utilizes the Predictive Index to assist in better targeted selection. 
  • Ensures that the new hire orientation and on-boarding process properly introduces new hires to our company culture and expectations.
  • Supports the company’s designated trainer program and helps to provide guidance for learning and development efforts for succession planning. 
  • Measures employee turnover monthly and tracks reasons for termination through personal exit interviews and written questionnaires. Summaries this information for management and works to improve retention efforts. 
  • Coordinates an annual employee opinion feedback program to monitor/improve employee engagement and facilitates followup sessions with team members to 
  • Partners with management to review accidents and workers compensation. Helps to initiate safety programs to improve accident ratio. 
  • Provides employee relations, coaching and counseling as needed with the support of various managers. 
  • Oversees the payroll function and is capable of running payroll as needed. Audits various payroll reports to ensure accuracy. 
  • Provides courteous, personalized, attentive, and sincere, internal service by ensure the prompt and efficient response to inquiries, requests & concerns by team members. Strives to exceed expectations and to resolve situations with resourcefulness.
  • Promotes excellent communication and interaction with all restaurants and Chiles divisions to ensure consistent internal service.  

Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma required and bachelor degree in Human Resources or a business related field required. 
  • SPHR or PHR certification highly preferred. 

 Experience:

  • One to two years previous Human Resource generalist work experience required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement HR related programs and procedures as well as the ability to positively impact employee morale.

 Qualifications:

  • Fluent with Microsoft Office programs especially Word and Excel. 
  • Experience with payroll/HRMS system(s) preferred. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of local, state and federal employment laws. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship building skills.

 Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must posses a valid drivers license or state issued ID card.

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in English and additional language skills helpful.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
