Job Summary

The People Business Partner acts as a People & Organization Point of Contact for the employees located in Bingham Farms, MI, providing strategic thought leadership to the leaders of the assigned client groups. In addition, the position will be responsible for managing compliance projects and reporting for the North America region to include developing effective processes, policies & procedures.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides guidance and support to the assigned client groups in all aspects of People & Organization management to include workforce planning, performance management, and talent engagement and employee relations.
  • Oversees and manages compliance projects for all People related programs to include internal audits, record retention schedule, ensuring compliance with all related laws and regulations.
  • Develops monthly, quarterly and annual reports to include employee demographics, trends analysis, and projections.
  • Produces regular employee survey reports from Office Vibe, analyse results and creates decks for People Managers to share with leaders and employees.
  • Oversees employee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure collaboration across the departments and the sites for creating positive experience for new hires.
  • Reviews and posts people updates on CPA Global Intranet to include policy and procedure updates.
  • Manages annual schedule and ensures all People projects are implemented in a timely manner
  • Partners with outside employment counsel to develop Annual Affirmative Action Plan and file EEO-1 and Vets4212 reports and ensures timely completion.
  • Maintains and develops sustainable, effective HR relationships with business management stakeholders based on collaboration and trust.
  • Collaborates on projects with the Global People team to drive a consistent, effective and efficient HR service to the overall business.
  • Works regionally in executing the End of Year process for Performance Management including, training and communication of the Performance Management Review, Bonus Allocation and Salary Increase process.
  • Supports organizational change activities including providing advice on reorganization, re-deployment/offshoring and exit strategies when required.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures compliance.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.      
  • Ensures alignment to policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Works with the HR Shared Services Team and Finance on reporting issues as needed. Addresses employee relations issues and conducts investigations in a timely and confidential manner.

Requirements

Primary Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years human resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • PHR certification is preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel, to include pivot tables, VLOOKUP functionality.

  • Experienced managing and maintaining Sharepoint, internal drives and MS Teams.

  • Previous experience with performance management and employee relations is important

  • Experience with various HR Information Systems (Workday experience a plus) and working knowledge of ADP payroll systems

  • Must be a self-starter who can work well independently as well as within a team environment

  • Excellent project management skills, data analytics and forecasting

  • Attention to detail and working with multiple stakeholders to ensure project success

  • Solid knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and ordinances

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and presentation skills are a must

  • A proven ability to manage multiple priorities and manage time effectively

  • A proven ability to establish strong positive relationships with leaders, stakeholders and team members

  • A proven ability to effectively address and manage complex situations with poise and tact

  • Must be able to work well with individuals at all levels within the organization

  • Must be able to understand the big picture and provide support to drive business strategy

  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever changing environment

  • Must have a high level of integrity and be able to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times. 

  • Able to travel occasionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in working within a highly matrixed, global organization
  • Previous experience with immigration, organizational design, change management and mergers and acquisitions
